Yes, the phone will never make a good first impression with your near and dear ones.Mainly because of its size and weight. Six - eight months back this phone would have been a good buy(not sure, if this phone was around at that time).
These days you get phones that are much smaller and sleeker than the Nokia 3530.
Color screen, MMS, GPRS etc all this at 8500 bucks(bought 4 months back, now its
down by a 1000 I guess) I thought was cool and went for it. I will discuss in brief, the features considered to be the reason one would choose this phone.
Color screen
If a color screen is one of the features u want in ur phone, u shld be looking at a phone with 65k colors. The 3530 comes with only 4096 colors. It looks good but is not suitable for media AT ALL. The images look pixellated.
This feature is a thumbs down!
MMS
Trust me, this is one useless feature, I could never send one to any of my friends because none of them have a MMS enabled cell phone. In case, some friend of urs has made the same mistake of buying a 3530 and you thought of checking out the MMS facility it would cost u Rs 5 (hutch) per MMS. This is provided ur 3530 buddy has MMS / GPRS enabled (hutch charges 100 per month for these facilities).
So this feature of the phone also turns out to be a downer.
GPRS
This is one feature iam happy with, internet connectivity at a descent speed. The browser is good and is easy to browse. However if the URL is long, it really is a pain keying it in.
This feature gets a thumbs up!
Phone software
The phone software is pretty much the same as other Nokia phones, only difference being, with a color screen the menu looks better and the navigation is easier.
Though this feature is not specific to this model, I would give this a thumbs up!
All the other features are almost the same as any other Nokia mobile, so I need not discuss them.

1>> The keypad looks cool and is also easy to use.
2>> The phone has a white light that illuminates the front and side portions of the cover when the keypad is in use. this looks really cool.
other downers
1>> Bulky, this is the biggest draw back of the phone.
2>> No option for changing the screensavers, the one that comes built-in in the form of a digital clock display is just horrible.
3>> No ringtone composer.
Whether this phone is cool enough for u, u can decide. Iam not satisfied with this mobile!! Just as people are different, their likes and dislikes are also, so this review is totally my views.
Bottom line
Dont even consider buying this phone!
