Have been using this phone for 6 months now. Guess I am qualified to write a review on it. The phone looks sleek and sexy as compared to the 3310.
I am comparing this phone to a 3310 as both are basic models from Nokia and infact the 3315 is just a step ahead of 3310.
As far as buttons are concerned, they are very much same to the 3310 except that they are made of opaque transparent material. This way instead of just the display screen, the entire key board lights up whenever you are using the phone or when you receive a call or a message. The light emitted is green, though somehow I like the blue light display of Samsung and alcatel phones. Some people will not understand why I said that this phone is a bit heavy. You will have to wait for roughly a month, when I'll be in a position to write about a really really light phone from LG.
The features that I most used were Messages, Tones Composer and Picture Editor. Apart from making calls that is.
I believe the Composer is available even in 3310 while Picture Editor is not.
In messages they have added a feature which tries to guess what you are trying to type. Can be helpful but most times it is irritating as it normally guesses the wrong word. I usually keep this feature turned off. Typing out messages becomes easier with more use and practice. This phone allows you to send multi part messages, upto thrice the usual messages. What this means is that though you are writing one single long message, the network is actually sending three messages and you are billed accordingly. This is useful as you don’t have to send three separate messages.
On the tones composer I have composed three tones of my own. I prefer to have tones that are unique. Though currently I am using “Pyar Main Dil” for my incoming ring which a friend forwarded to me, for incoming messages I am using my own tone which I have named message. Hmm very predictable name isn’t it. For benefit of any person so inclined, I am giving my tone here. Feel free to copy the same.

Picture Editoragain helps satisfy my desire for uniqueness. I design my own pics and use them as Screen Savers. Also the bpl mobile site has a picture maker option where you can make your own picture, add text and then download as a picture message.
The phone is a beauty, light grayish green with a white metal body encasing the display screen. This metal part cannot be changed when changing the color of the body by using those xpress on covers that are available in the market. Honestly I never liked the xpress feature. I always feel that the best cover is the one that the phone comes with. You are free to disagree with that.
The buttons as I described earlier are translucent, (I couldn’t get this word earlier) and easy to use. The inbuilt menu system is also very easy to understand and navigate. Most of the other features are similar to the 3310. So if you have used the 3310 it won’t be difficult to find your way around.
Overall it’s a good phone and costs below Rs. 6600 in white and 5500 in Grey market. Mine is from the white market, as the company paid for it :) The catalogue that came with this piece has two sections to it. The first part is in Hindi where they have used too pure a Hindi, making it difficult for average mumbaikar to easily read. Anyway the second part gives the same details in English which I somehow manage to comprehend. On a serious note I think giving the information in the regional language is a good tool as there must be many who prefer to read instructions in their mother tongue or regional language.
The catalogue is quote detailed and one should use the index provided to read only those parts which one needs to know, as there is no point in going through so much information unless you have extra time to kill.
Last but not the least The battery life is excellent, just what I need, plus the ring tone volume is enough to wake the neighborhood up. The reception and acoustics are good too.
Bottomline:
In case you need any further information just call me on my 3315.
