Well folks the nokia 3315 is the new phone on the block, this phone is the successor of the nokia 3310 as most of us know so the features are similar but improved.Offcourse there are added features in this phone and this phone has a different design so when you hold it you will feel different and it looks cute.Available at 6500 rupees in all nokia outlets.
Major Differences between Nokia 3310/3315
3315 has these extra features that are handy:
Picture editor and ringtone composer
Automatic keyguard feature (really cool thing when you use it)
T9 predictive text input
Concatenated (long) SMS, picture messaging, and SMS Chat support
Personalised message tones
Screen saver feature
Reminder function
Voice dialling
and guess wat there is a new language in the phone besides english there is APNA HINDI.Its cool cos then everything is in hindi so its lik''phone pustak'' for phone book, etc. This is also handy for some pannwala's :)
With all that said ill go in detail with every aspect of this phone.
Physical aspects
One of the more distinguishing features of the 3315 is the top white section of the phone, which surrounds the earpiece, LCD screen and Navi-key. As this section of the Xpress-on cover’s design doesn’t change, the white colour contrasts well with the available colours. The keypad on the 3315 is slightly more raised (especially evident for the clear, Navi-key, and up/down buttons) and tactile compared with the 3310.
User Interface (UI)
Combining a simple-to-use menu system with the convenience of the Navi-key system, first time users will have virtually no problems going around the 3315’s menus and going about personalising their phone and utilising features to their potential. On the other hand, for those who have used traditional phones (those with two soft keys and answer/reject buttons), navigating a phone such as the 3315 may take some getting use to.
Making and receiving calls
Calls can be made and received simply via accessing the single Navi-key button, and with the assistance of the up/down buttons at times. Accessing in-call features, such as “hold” and “mute”, can be done by pressing the “C” button - which would change the Navi-key’s function from “End” to “Options”. Pressing the Navi-key at this point in time will bring up these in-call functions.
Messaging
Concatenated (or long) SMS messages can be composed with the 3315 - eliminating the need to write an entire message in several separate messages. The 3315 can also send and receive picture messages as well.
Message tones on the 3315 are not restricted to the 4 standard Nokia tones (ascending, beep once, special, standard) - but now users have the option of composing their own tone, or simply choose an available ringtone instead.Think about it its cool.
Battery life
The battery supplied with the package (BLC-1) provides for approximately 2-3 days’ worth of standby and 2-3 hours’ of talking time.Note playing games with vibrator on for long periods seriouly reduces battery time.
Picture editor and ringtone composer
Before you could only compose your own ringtone. With the 3315, you can now also create new or edit existing picture messages where they can either be sent to another person or saved on the phone to be used as a screen saver instead.
Automatic keyguard feature
The 3315 offers an automatic keyguard features which allows a user to predefine a timeout period for the phone’s keypad lock to come on by itself. Convenient for those people who don’t remember to lock the keypad and have speed dialling enabled :)
T9 predictive text input
Predictive text input allows users to complete a message quickly and more efficiently by requiring less key strokes per word.
Screen saver feature
Picture messages on the 3315 can also be used as screen savers, which can also be set up differently for each individual profile.
Reminder function
The reminder function on the 3315 allows a note to be either saved individually or with an alarm to remind you of what you need to be reminded at the time required.
Voice dialling
For those more frequently-called phone numbers, you can set up voice dialling for these by simply saving a voice tag with the number. This will enable an alternate method of dialling in addition to speed dialling or looking endlessly through your phone book.
with all that said I feel this is a amazing phone and I recommend it for all those who want a good low budget phone for practical use.its has no quirks lik hanging etc.
