I personally own a Canon SX 10 IS, which is definitely one of the leading cameras in the bride segment...even better than its own successors Canon SX 20 IS and Canon SX 30 IS. One of my friend purchased this stupid camera and I got a chance to play around with the Nikon Coolpix L110 for couple of weeks.
Overall: Not sure against which segment / competitor camera has it been positioned. Few things which does not get into my mind are as follows:
The camera supports 4 AA size batteries, however it has LCD as the only way to view / click your pictures (no electronic viewfinder)...meaning massive consumption of power on small batteries. Personally I found battery consumption otherwise is also very aggressive.
The camera has a tiny pop-up flash which is not better than a normal flash built into a compact digital camera. Why do we need a pop-up flash then....for show??
The camera refuses to auto focus on objects too close or if you zoom too much on a subject (not too close to be considered as macro)
- The pictures are not sharp, whatever be the surrounding.- Low light capability is poor. If you use the camera in low light on auto mode, it tends to adjust to a lower shutter speed (slow) rather than adjusting other parametres...like ISO. Result: blurred pictures. I dont remember to see any ISO setting in the camera though.
