The Plot

A wealthy, popular flirtatious & drunk rock star Brian (WARWICK SIMS). Beautiful, grief-stricken wife Nikki (TANYA ROBERTS) who's hurt with his selfish ways. Bitter divorce follows. But for Brian, it's not over yet. Seeking revenge, he hires security guard Will (ANDREW STEVENS) to monitor his wife, especially in the bedroom. Reluctantly, on the pretext of protecting her, Will installs surveillance cameras in her house and unknown to her, in the bedroom also. Brian wants proof that she's cheating on him so that he gets the upper hand for the divorce proceeding. But for Will, sensuous Nikki is more than just a pawn in Brian's dirty game. He begins to fall in love with her...and that's when the trouble begins.

The Review

Directed by Indian Jag Mundhra. Co-produced by Ashok Amritraj, one of the most successful producers in Hollywood today. These name tags were reasons exciting enough for me to check out this movie. However, I was deeply disappointed for reasons that would be obvious to you too. The plot has been exploited too many times, in Bollywood too, for us to raise an eyebrow. Probably, back then in the early 90s, this theme of selfish husband-unsatisfied pretty wife-handsome good lover still had takers in Hollywood. Anyway, I would have appreciated had the director gave an innovative or refreshing touch.

The performances are mediocre, save for Andrew Stevens who makes a sincere attempt. Pretty Tanya Roberts with lovely Ash-like eyes gives an average performance. The rest in the movie are simply ignorable pawns.

No edgy suspenses or drama. Even the 'twist' towards the end is nothing. Period.

The only aspect of the movie that could tingle your senses are the steamy love-making scenes in every other frame.

Seems director Jag Mudhra's speciality is B-grade erotic movies - he has made so many of 'em. But remember Bawandhar (inspired by a true story) starring Nandita Das? Probably the only worthy reel show from his factory.

Final word

A 2/5 movie - why the 2? Hey, erotic pleasure guaranteed! Watch if you want some light-hearted recreation for your hormones :)
