After a summer of sandals and barefeet, my feet are in pretty rough shape. I noticed that, not only were my feet getting dry almost to the point of cracking; so were my ten year old son's. At his physical, the pediatrician told us that this was becoming very common in children (especially boys). Why? Because they tend to wear the same shoes day after day-most often sneakers. He explained the inner soles of most sneakers are made of synthetic materials that absorb moisture. They actually contain salt! Who knew?
His advice was simple-change shoes every other day and use a moisturizer. I had been using a Dr. Scholl's foot cream that worked for me but had a scent-a definite no-no for a boy! Scanning the shelf at the drugstore, I noticed that Neutrogena has now has a foot cream. Having never been disappointed in a Neutrogena product, I decided to try it.
The Results?
The label promises that ''Neutrogena provides prompt relief for seriously dry, rough feet''.
Neutrogena lives up to it's name once again. The foot cream come in a two ounce tub. Like the hand cream, you use a small dab (the size of a pea). It has no scent. We used it on my son's feet two nights and the dryness was gone. Once the thick cream contacts the warmth of your hand it becomes easy to spread and is quickly absorbed. Your foot is a bit slippery for a short time so it's helpful to put on a clean pair of cotton socks if you need to walk around. I was so impressed with the results, I tried it and my feet were much more supple after one use. The Dr. Scholl's is now sitting half used in the cabinet and I use the Neutrogena.
I use it every night as directed on the label. My son always forgets (I consider it lucky if he actually brushes his teeth twice a day!) but the couple times a week he remembers seems to be enough for him.
At first glance the 2oz. tube seems expensive but the cream is so concentrated that it goes a long way.
Another Winner from Neutrogena!
