I heard from quite a many friends of mine that this is something I must see, though, they also warned that the plot line-up and the death of Neerja Bhanot in the movie has been such a heart-breaking incident that I may end up crying while watching the movie. And now as I have watched the movie, I completely agree with them.
The movie is about a small-time model Neerja who after continuosly getting humiliated from her marriage decides to be an air hostess. And such is her charm and wit that people make her the lead purser in the service of passengers. Then one gloomy day a plane flying from Delhi to New York gets hijacked by four terrorists and this is where Sonam Kapoor in the role of Neerja shines. She has played the role with passion and seems completely to connect with the situation and audience. With her impeccable bravery, she saves most of the passengers onboard flight. Shabana Azmi also has done justice to her role and I enjoyed having a glimpse of Rajesh Khanna in the movie.
The incidents and scenes are well connected, for example, I liked the scene when on one side we are shown the bursting of balloons at a party while on the other side bombs are detonated. I remain completely glued to my seat and I could not realise when did the whole time pass as the movie ended. This is partly due to the fantastic story and in part attributable to the fabulous acting of Sonam Kapoor. I must admit that Sonam Kpoor, unlike her average acting in other movies, has completely struck a chord in this movie.
