Well well, Today I decided, come what may- I shall write a review on some health /beauty product.
I wanted to write on certain face creams, but they were never in the list sigh !! That doesnt mean I am talking about some shady creams, one of them is very popular- Clean and Clear but God knows why its not there on the list.
Anyway... I came to write here about oil and I am talking about creams that dont figure on the MS list - grrr.... so much of distraction.
So Neelibringadi coconut oil is our topic and lets stick to it.
I have used it for a quite a few years as a kid and teenager.
My mother got it for me from God's own country - Kerala in a big bottle.
She said this is the secret of healthy and long tresses. I was thrilled at the thought as I really wanted long hair. I had been a victim of some really bad hair cutting salons.
|| Flashback ||
==================
I wanted my hair to be cut like Madhuri Dixit's hair (in india its called Step-cut I think) and went with my perfectly nice long shoulder length hair to a local parlour.
I think the parlour lady mistook ''madhuri'' style for ''kiran bedi'' style (no offence).
2 hours later , I was left with a small crop and a horror struck look.
So this is what she was doing when she was talking about why Kimi katkar left the film industry and why Neetu Singh and Rishi kapoor got divorced (later I came to know that news was also wrong).
ohhh God what a mishap !!!
and she justified it saying.. '''' Step cut is when all your hair have different steps.
your hair was too short to have that style, still I have done a good job with it.
Look, by the time I reached the last step, all your hair was gone.. and now whenever it grows ,your hair will look like Madhuri Dixit. ''''''
I was too angry and probably naive to fight with her (abhi milegi to bataungi usse). I just paid her and reached home. My mother was shell shocked to see my plight (FYI all this happened when I was 18). She kept taunting me for the next two weeks for my so called step-cut and also cancelled our annual trip to Bombay lest my granny dropped dead after seeing my boy-cut hair.

|| End of flash back ||
After I got Neelibhringadi , I read the instructions which all looked positive.
For the next 6 months, I regularly applied it every alternate night and washed it off the next morning and the results were wonderful !!!
-My hair grew considerably long and thick in the next six months.
only drawback about the oil is :
- The oil cools the scalp and hence if you are prone to cold etc, then its not advisable for overnight use.
-Many times, I had constant cold and bouts of sneezing after applying during which time I gave the oil a little break and reused it again.
Other facts
====
rates : I dont know now, its years since I have used it.
availability : In all ayurvedic stores and in some medical stores in India. In kerala , you should find it everywhere.
contains : coconut, Amla, Shikakai and some Ayurvedic herbs that are good for hair
smells : great. No strong fragrance as such, but has a wild keralite smell and its definitely not irritating to you or people around you.
other advantages : cures drandruff, stops hair fall , prevents dry and itchy scalp and also gives you a sound sleep at night.
Conclusion
I recommend Neelibringadi oil to everyone. If you can get it easily and if you are not prone to cold etc. then you are lucky. Go for it !!!
