This is not the first time it is happening. Nursing staff at Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre at Narayana Health City needs to improve big time. The front office staff lack customer service. This incident is about the Health Check section in the International Patient Block at NH Health City. I took my wife for a comprehensive health check-up. While we were seated in the waiting area, there were a lot of flies and insects flying around and some patients and visitors sitting there were also keeping themselves occupied hitting these flying objects with newspapers.
Coming to the nursing staff in the sample collection section, the nurse while taking blood injured the nerve / veins that became black due to blood clot. When questioned she told my wife to put on some weight as the veins were very thin and not visible according to her. Such rubbish statement. We even mentioned about this to the floor coordinator and the consulting doctor. They just ignored. Later, when her blood sample had to be taken for the second time two hours after breakfast, we demanded that a senior nurse be present. When the senior nurse came and saw her hand she immediately confirmed that the blood was not drawn properly and the nurse has caused injury. That nerve is still paining. When the senior nurse took the blood sample there was no problem. The other nurse was watching and she later apologized. But what will an apology do? Some responsible action must be taken to ensure others don't become a victim. Much needs to be improved.
