I had just finished my board exams and was really requiring a break . What could have been better than Nainital . Though initially I felt that it would prove to be TOO far away as I was going all the way from Mumbai , but what I saw on reaching there made me forget the long journey .
We stopped overnight at Haldwani around 30 kms from Nainital and then proceeded to Nainital . May the time when there is all mayhem at Nainital due to the large number of national and international tourists , so if one wants peace and soltitude it is better to visit in April .
One thing that I still remember months on is the food , which is excellent not only in Nainital but all over Uttaranchal . Good accomodation is available for every type of traveller . Nainatal Zoo , Naini Lake, Naina devi temple are some of the worth visiting places in Nainital . There are many lakes around Nainital too like Sattal , Bhimtal , Sukhtal , Naukuchiatal which can be visited in a day trip . A visit to the cave garden is also worth your money , one can also enjoy visits to various spiritual and yoga resorts around Nainital . A late night walk around mall road besides the lake , listening to the echo of the bell of Naina devi temple is recommended . For the avid shoppers decorative candles , woolen wear is in store . For the photographers this location will offer you many challenges . On the whole a trip to Nainital is highly rejuvenating .
