I want to dedicate this review to my Tom Bro. @Siddhartth as he inspired me to write a review on Nainitaal. So here it is:

Nainitaal is a hill station in Uttrakhand. It is situated at a height of 1938 meters. The main attraction about Nainitaal is that The City & The Naini Lake surrounded by the mountains. It doubles the beauty of Nainitaal. It is also called as The Lake District/City of India. It’s a very romantic & beautiful place.

It is said that the left eye (Nain) of Sati fell here and this gave rise to patron deity of town Nainital . It is said that the lake is formed in the emerald eye shape. Naina Devi temple is located at the northern end of the lake. Thus name Nainitaal came from Naina and the tal (Lake).

Best time to visit:

March to June and September to October.

How to reach Nainitaal:

Well, you can go there by bus, by train & by air. Yet your own vehicle would be the best option.

By Air:

Pantnagar is the nearest airport that is 70 km away from Nainitaal.

By Train:

The nearest platform is Kathgodam & Haldwani. Buses & Taxies are available from here to go to Nainitaal.

By Bus:

Nainitaal is connected to highway, so you can take daily roadway buses or you can book luxury coach buses.

Where to stay:

Well, you can choose hotels for stay as per your range. A lot of 3 star, 4 star, 5 star & budgeted hotels are available there.

Hotel Manu Maharani, Hotel Vikram Vintage, Shervani Hill Top inn, The Earls Court, Himalayan View Retreat, Le Perle Monal Resort, Hotel Himalayan, Hotel Krishna, Dolmaar Resort, Hotel Paratap Regency, Hotel Classic, Swiss Hotel & Many more are there.

Places for visit in Nainitaal:

Mall Road:

A very big Mall Road is there aside by the Lake. While going to mall road you can enjoy the beauty of the lake with the sips of coffee or ice cream. On the Mall Road a Church is also there; don’t miss to go there for some peace & you may meet there our Siddharth Bhai (Tom Bhai) @Siddhartth . On the mall road you can see the Capital Cinema, which was shown in movie “Koi Mil Gaya”. But now the Cinema hall is converted into video game parlor and juice shops. So please don’t expect any movie show there.

The Mall road market is very bright and attractive. You can buy a lot of things from there like wooden items, decorative wax candles, and stuff.

Lake:

The real beauty of Nainitaal is just because of Naini Lake & don’t forget to do boating on that lake. Specially boating in the night light will double your joy.

Zoo:

Around one km. away from the bus stand there is Govind Ballabh Pant High AltiMr_customtakeouter Zoo. It has Monkeys, Himalayan black bear, Leopard, Siberian Tiger, Palm civet cat, Wolf, Silver Pheasants, Rose ringed Parakeet, Hill Fox , Ghoral, Barking Deer, Sambhar. The zoo remains closed for visitors on Mondays & on all Nainitaal holidays.

Lover & Suicide Point:

There is a Lover & Suicide point also & both are the same points (hehehe…quite funny). And from there you can hire horses to enjoy the horse riding that can take you to the peak points of Nainitaal. And there you will the see place where Spay shipwas landed in Koi Mil Gaya.

Hanuman Garhi:

It is around 3.5 Kilometers away from the bus stop. Hanuman Garhi is a religious center and famous for its sun set view. One can go to Hanuman Garhi by taxi, bus or even on foot from Nainitaal.

Tibet Market:

Tibet market is very famous in Nainitaal for shopping. You can acquire a lot of things like clothes, footwear; Music CD’s etc.

Food:

Well, there's a lot of good restaurants available with good food; mostly Punjabi food. You can take veg. & non veg. food there with full of taste.

Other than that you can visit Mandir of Lord Shiva, Rajbhawan, Cave Garden, China Border, Snow Viewpoint,

Tiffin Top& Lands Endpoint.

I hope whenever you go to Nainitaal you will enjoy its beauty of Mother Nature.

Take care,

Vanita
