Switch to any of the non-premium TV channels and I am sure you'd come across those 15-minute long advertisements of all sorts of junk which are sponsored by Naaptol. Junk, did I say? Well, they do seem to offer some nice phones, health supplements, and sarees/dress materials, don't they? Unfortunately, that's exactly what 90% of their target customers would be led to believe. Fake testimonials, overhype, unending monologues, "now-or-never" offers - and the slightest unaware person would bite the bait to dial the on-screen number for ordering something. And that'll be a decision most people would regret for long.


Let's focus on their products on sale. All - I repeat - All of their products are extremely outdated pieces of junk. Some barely-heard brand of mobile phone for Rs.5000 whch offers a 3 megapixel camera, 800x480 screen and an undefined "android" operating system - wait, is this really 2015? For a thousand rupees more, I can get myself some really good phones with quad-core processor, 720p display, 2GB RAM and excellent 8mp cameras.


Same goes with most of the products they have on sale -=if you, as a consumer go ahead and do a bit of research, you'd realize that for an equivalent amount of money(or sometimes, a trifle more money), you can get a much better product.== What makes things worse is that Naaptol attempts to sell all their outdated junk at MRP - and when a seller quotes a 2012 MRP for a 2012 product which he/she is trying to sell in 2015, it not only sounds ridiculous, it sounds like the seller is rather too desperate to recover for some unexplained losses, while at the same time, he/she is too arrogant to offer any benefits. Instead the seller further tries to "push" the outdated products as "class-leading" and "outstanding" and then goes on to add "life-changing" testimonials from fake actors.


I feel sad for the masses of people who, unfortunately believe these claims and end up in financial losses, as the hundreds of negative reviews here on mouthshout testify. Phones without invoices and warranty, gadgets that dont work as advertised, "lose-weight-quick" solutions that leave you wondering what you missed, cheap quality jeans and dress materials - all of this is sadly true.Add to it, a pathetic, non-existent service/support and you have a perfect recipe for a scamster company. We can't blame customers - many people will believe what they see, and there are still several people who don't have the means/knowledge to do a proper research before buying something online. My own relatives have fallen prey to such scams and ended up paying some good sums of money for worthless junk which doesn't deserve a tenth of the price they were sold for.


Now I am confirmed with a strong belief, Naaptol is a training institute for scammology. Well, you know - the kind of place where scamsters can actually practice and improve their scamming skills before they head out to the real world and start conning people! At least, that's the conclusion you start to draw once you come across the 15-minute long TV ads. Know why? Because, real world scamsters are confident liars. The actors on TV - they have so much of amateurism and untrained overacting built in, it shows up in everything - including their confused dialogues(yes, they really do that! Next time, pay attention and you'd laugh your guts out listening to their rhetoric!) And if you really want to buy something, please, spend some time to do a bit of research about the product. Buy from a reliable source and save yourself all the heartburn!
