The Asian sensation is back to hit the charts after his well known single'Eyes On You' and he's making waves with the Indo-Brit community all the way in the UK! My Own Way' is the second album by British RnB star Jay Sean. Mixing slick RnB, hip hop and desi beats. Production duties are undertaken by Bhangra lyricist Rishi Rich, rapper and singer Timbaland, and Grammy-nominated music producer Brian Mcknight amongst others.
This RnB smoothie is breaking barriers and making Pop songs that include his own cultural background. For most of the album is dedicated to singing for the ladies with a voice that croons and swoons so effortlessly and his gifted expression of the conflict between the mind and the heart. The topical elements of this record range from feeling caught in the middle by our significant other ‘Runaway’ and ‘Good Enough’ which talks about prejudice faced by interracial couples. Some tracks have terribly disappointing lyrics(I Won’t Tell) along with amateur production for some of you keen listeners.
But you can easily forget that thought since the rest of the album have tracks ‘Murder’ which are infectious to the ear and with epic mid-tempo ‘Stay’. With ‘My Own Way’, Jay Sean has compiled some pleasing tunes with one of the best RnB voices of today. The album has a knack of getting stuck around the same mid-tempo and predictable bump ‘n’ grind beats, praising the women he woes and talking about real relationships which is popular among the Urban Desi scene.
