Sharing a detailed experience summary hoping it helps someone.
We signed up with MyGubbi on the promise that quality and timely work will be delivered. Their marketing team and the business owner promised sky high quality, competitive pricing and showed immense confidence on the timelines of the project. So much confidence that I was being told, I might not be able to arrange the money for payment because of how fast they deliver projects. This was August, 2021.
Hearing all of this we very well signed up and paid 50%. From that moment started deviations in the terms of contract.
3D renders were not being provided for all rooms stating that due to the competitive price that was offered they were not able to provide renders. We ignored and went ahead with 2d drawings and our imagination.
After the design phase, one email was sent asking to pay up the remainder of the amount stating that they are prioritising only those customers who are paying up as they don't have enough factory space. If you pay up, your order will be delivered to site in 12-15days and subsequently the project. We abided by this in the month of September, 2021. Post which they missed deadline after deadline and could not get one piece of furniture ready before Jan2022.
On doing some background checks I found out that they had 2 factories in Bangalore and one was being shut down.
During the execution, I was curious to see the channels and hinges that were being provided and started to match what I was quoted for (Ebco/Peglar) and what was actually being installed and bam! Some local brand hinges and channels were put. On raising my voice they said it was a mistake and they will change it. Close shave!
The kitchen had panels of different shades of the same color. Some panels had different colors of edge banding. Height of placement for various wall units were incorrect. And all of this we had to compare with production drawings and the site and point out.
While installing the furniture they have made multiple scratches to the floor tiles. Your dream home will become your worst nightmare, thanks to myGubbi!
Imagine the amount of due diligence you require from your side and the callousness from myGubbi.
It was a horrid 5months of chasing these people from pillar to post, visiting the site twice in a day to ensure work is happening (more than half the days the flat would be locked and empty), coordinating with their carpenters, clearing doubts in the design and getting abused by their employees(Kevin Prabhu). So much so, that they don't care about their employer neither customer. They will abuse you infront of their employer, which leaves me thinking who is actually running the company.
Worst part of it all, is the attitude of the company and their employees starting from the highest management to their lowest. It's almost like they are doing you a favour by doing your home interiors when you have paid them through the nose.
I also found out later, that many customers have reached out to the consumer court against the company and they don't bother about that I too. Please see the link below

I seriously don't know how they are still running this place.
AFTER 4MONTHS, I ALSO CAME TO KNOW THAT OUR PROJECT WAS INTERNALLY MARKED AS HANDED-OVER AND COMPLETED, HOWEVER, WE HAD NOT SIGNED ANY HANDOVER DOCUMENTS, NOT RECEIVED ANY FORMAL COMMUNICATION ABOUT WARRANTY EITHER.
When we had signed up, their Google rating was 4.3, and as I am posting this, it has come down to 4. This is clearly indicative of the imminent decline. Also based on their company description, they are not really a 100% interiors company but a tech company trying to automate and operationalise interior works through tech solutions. So the expertise in the actual business line(if that is interiors) is questionable.
If you want mental peace and good work I would strongly recommend against myGubbi. They will give you the lowest price(probably) and along with that the worst experience of your life.
Some other RED flags standing out
- Their showroom is designed in a way that natural light does not come in so you would have to figure the quality out based on artificial light using which one can be deceived
- Compare the quality of the furniture in their showroom to other showrooms of Livspace, Homelane, Design Cafe, Decorpot etc. If you observe closely, you will find design issues, alignment issues and quality issues in their showroom itself
- Check the negative reviews in Google and how many thumbs up they have for the negative reviews against the positive reviews and their thumbs up. I have a feeling there is something wrong going on in their ratings as well.
- Snags are Snags only if they feel like agreeing with you. They blatantly ignore your complaints of snags if they don't have a fix for it
- I am tempted to put emails, photos, and chat conversations as evidence here.
If you are dealing with any of these people in myGubbi, be ready to be cheated. I had also reached out for help to their Co-Founder Ravi, but just like the others, he does not care either about customers.
1. Balwinder Singh
2. Rituraj Baruah
3. Kevin Prabhu
4. Manjunath
Now after 2 months post completion of the project, issues are showing up every week and I have been trying to follow up via email/phone and getting zero response.
