I pledged my gold in the month of dec 2019 for low interest of 1% and I was told that my due date is of 29th of every month, initially I was not aware that if we miss to pay then 31st day they will suck our blood and make us pay 2 times interest, this keeps adding every day until you pay the interest. During lockdown I ended up paying more than 6 times interest, since I pledged my gold for more than 5 lakhs, it was huge huge interest money. Basically, these blood suckers do not sent any msg, call or email abt payment unlike other personal loan / home loan.
After this incident, i took caution to pay interest every month on 29th. again another twist, in the moth of aug I paid on 28th and as per my knowledge I was supposed to pay on 28th of sep which is one day before my due date, but these blood suckers have doubled my interest rate and proving if paid on 28th sep its considered as 1 month 1 day for which I was made to pay twice the interest
I visited Koramangala branch today to seek help as am literally broken down due to other final issues in this covid situation, being jobless, its so much struggle even for my day today life. Customer care executives firstly responded to my call in the morning and manager Nagaraj confirmed to call me back in 10min and never responded to me, so I had to go all the way-30km in the rain drenched and their response was so hillarious. With a heavy heart, I walked out.
Since, they'll keep adding interest every hour, I had to pledge my thali(mangal sutru which was my last thing left) to pay them. I was told that receipt had next payment date which is not mentioned anywhere in the payment receipt. no where muthoot is informing about next payment schedule, neither via email, msg, call or whatsapp. am sure every month have to go thru same trauma.
I fail to understand, such firm they are so unethical, no humanity, no mercy, even during this pandemic they make so much money that to from poor people. Does govt has any control on such act? its all for emergency we rush to such place and we get trapped. totally unfair!
