A Smile On Your Face. Review on Muskurahat

Muskuraahat is probably one of the most under-appreciated Hindi movie of our times, the reason ? It's also one of the funniest movies of our times that many people are not aware of. The director of this movie Priyadarshan is a hugely successful Malayalam Movie Maker (now very popular in Hindi cinema) and he introduced a very different flavor of humour.

The movie is about a mentally imbalanced Girl that ''somehow'' ends up with a tour guide in Ooty who gets her a job at her father's house who is unaware of her existence. It's the scenes between a Frustrated yet lovable Father played by Ever Reliable Amrish Puri and the Daughter played by our own Revathi that steal the movie. Another character that cracks up the audiences is Annu Kapoor who in his greed to get ''Bounty Money'' on Revathi gets in all sorts of trouble. The Male lead actor of this movie played by Jay Mehta couldn't have asked for a better launch pad but audiences just did not approve of him. Jagdeep has a very decent cameo in this movie, usually he resorts to stupid punch lines like ''Ghoonsa Laga ke'' did a good job, looks like Priyan extracted the best from everyone, the scene were Jay convinces Jagdeep that had won the lottery and he should quit working for Amrish puri is pretty funny.

This is a remake of a malayalam movie called ''Kilukkam'' featuring Mohan Lal, obviously if you compare Mohan Lal with Jay Mehta, you are probably going to disklike it. But If you are looking for a fun movie (I mean real humour) with some typical emotions, this is your movie, watch it with your family, it'll help you forget your stress for a while.
