Mumbai, also known as the commercial capital and the Bollywood city is the capital of Maharastra and is the most populous city of the country with a population close to 19 million. Located on the western coast, it has many deep harbours and is also the wealthiest city of the country. It is a constituents of seven islands which were basically communities pertaining to fishing colonies.
For centuries, it was being ruled by indigenous emperors then succeeded by the Portuguese till the time came when it was finally taken over by the British.
