MTV has become known for their reality shows. When the show The Osbournes first aired, I was there to see it. I have to admit it was entertaining for a while, but as I continued to watch, I felt as if there was no ''real'' content. Ozzy,(the dad) drinks his life away, the kids seem to have nothing going for them in their lives but the fact daddy is famous, and mum, well she is the glue that holds the family together. Although, I would not want her as my idol.
This show may perhaps be reality when it comes the Osborne family, but I'm not sure how many other families are this dysfunctional. I understand the fact that they may not be what we consider a normal family since Ozzy has been in the spotlight for decades, but does fame really lead to this? The show consists of boozing, cussing, screaming, drug using and cussing (yes I mentioned cussing twice... if you see the show you will understand.) They are disrespectful to each other as well as anyone they please. I would be embarrassed too if my family acted out to such an extreme (one of the daughters left the house before the show aired) I have nothing against the family itself... Anyone is entitled to be and act as they wish. Besides, Ozzy was an awesome performer... but to have a show of this sort on MTV is sad to me. It is mindless and crude. What kind of example does this give the younger generations?
Bottom line: if you want to feel better about yourself, watch it. If you are an abnormal psychologist, watch it. Otherwise, there are many more interesting, worthwhile shows to spend your time on. (Sorry Ozzy!!)
