Now I have not really been a big fan of chat programs but this one caught my eye!
First chose a user name that is unique to you. You can make it fun or complex. Just try to make it a name or handle you can remember!
It is an easy download and does not take to long. After you get it downloaded you just click on the file you downloaded and it runs itself.
When you sign in for the first time a window pops up to ask you if you want to sign in. Of course you do and you can save your info so you do not have to worry about remembering it all the time. The only draw back is that you cannot save more than one name to the list. This makes it a little difficult sometimes if you share your computer like we do. You can also sign in on the MSN Hotmail page if you sign up under Hotmail.
One really nice feature for parents is the Passport accounts for kids. You as the parent set up the account and you decide whom your kids talk to. You can add or omit whomever you want. It keeps your kids safe. Also from what I understand it is only for chatting. That cuts out the spam you get in a Hotmail mailbox.
The cute features they have added make it fun. You can send smilies or kisses or flowers. There is even a sun with shades on it..just to cute!
Adding people is a breeze. You can either search for them by e-mail addresses or by name. The difficulty with looking by name is you almost have to know exactly where your friend lives or be close. Other wise you will end up with too many names and it will tell you that you have to be more specific.
Over all it is a good chat tool. As you type all you have to do is hit the ''enter'' key and go...if you are on AOL using IM you have to constantly move your mouse to the button they provide to enter your message. It gets old.
