I am feeling very nice to write this review, because this is my 25th Review, and I am writing thie review on MouthShut.com web site.
NOTE: This review is not on General Thoughts On MouthShut, this review is on MouthShut.com web site, so in this review.. I will talk abt mouthshut.com and it will be very basic like this site is for what, how I came across, becoz this review is simply on MouthShut.com web site like other sites.
ok, so lets start my review..
How I came across this site: On 25th Feb. 2002, I was surfing the web-site to take little bit of information on one of the software development tool, I searched for it on yahoo.com (my best search engine). I got several results, from those results there was a name of MouthShut.com, I didnt remember what I was searching for, I got the result and saw the name MouthShut.com and I thought what type of site is it with such a name.. so I just clicked on that link, and I entered in to that site.
I became a member? After seeing the site, I read a review on that product, review was very small, so it doesnt created impact on me, but then I found that its a site where people can write reviews, and it makes me remember my old days on internet with other simillar site (MouthShut not allowing me to write the name of that site, no probs.), I had just wrote 2 or 3 reviews on that site, then that site got closed. But after two yeard I came across this site. So I decided to be a member of this site, I registerd my self on this site and then I just surf around this site.
What I found? Things which I found about this site is really great, This site is helps its member to decide wether to buy products or not to buy by reading reviews of the other members of this site. I also found lots of members on the site, at that day, I found that each time I refresh the page, I was able to see the new review, it attracted me a lot towards this sit.
Did I wrote any reviews? Well, I have wrote lots of reviews on MouthShut.com, hey this is also one of them, after registering on the web site, I just wrote my first review on Microsoft Train Simulator game, I needed to use MouthPad for that, because this topic was not there, and on the next day in the morning I found my review on MouthShut.com and also I recived E-mail saying that, the new topic is added or something like that.
What I Like: I like a lots of things about this web site, first of all is the loading speed, the loading speed of this site is really very fast, but now days dont no what happens taking a little bit of time, but no problem, design of the web site, colors of the web site and the idea of this web site.
Members: Members of this site are very friendly and also they helps news comers a lot on how to write reviews, I remembered, when I was new here, I wrote my first three reviews very short, because I was not knowing how to write, and then member told me to edit the review and to M2M them. I did exactly that and I got the results. I thank to all those members of MouthShut.com who helped me a in improving my writing skills, in this all the members are included, because comments of the members makes effects.
Features I like: I liked a lots of features of this site, few of them are MouthPad, Mouth 2 Mouth, Comments, User Profile, E-mail Alerts, Trust/Distrust, Member News, Best Debut Writer, Star Writer, Formating of Review. and lots of features. I will tell u little things abt only few features coz for others I will write review on that, like for Trust/Disturst there is Trustoworthy Cirlce or like that.
MoutPad: If user wants to write the review and the category/topic is not there on the MouthShut.com then, user can use this feature to add his/her review.
Mouth2Mouth: aka (also known as), M2M, this is very nice feature for members of MouthShut.com to communicate with other MouthShut.com members but sometimes it sends messages a little bit late, or dont send only, but 99.99% it sends perfectly.
E-mail Alerts: I will allow you to set Alert on ur review, comments, or on any category, so if any user post anything on that category/review/comment then it will send alert to your E-mail account.
Member News: This is new feature on MouthShut.com, well it started like fre months back, It allows users to post news about them on the web site.
BestDebut/Star Writer: This feature contains the names of the users who writes very nice reviews and also they have achived BestDebut and Star Writer award from MouthShut.com
Formatting Of Review: I liked this feature a lot, in this feature I can use such a function to make this review look a better, like using bold text, italic text or mix text, but one thing which I would like to see in this is, font color and underline function.
Contests: This is one of the nice feature on this web site, lots of members have won the prize on this site, and still contests are going on, to win contests there are some conditions if you do exactly like that, than you are the winner.
Features I dont like: There are no any features which I dont like, but some features need to be added.
Features need to be added: Auto Login - so that user dont need to type username and password again and again when they visit MouthShut.com, as mentioned in Formating of Review underline and color of text need to be added, MouthShut.com shoud add one new categoey i.e. on stationary, it will helps members a lot in deciding which pen is nice and like that.
What need to be improved: I would like to see the following services from the MouthShut.com to be improved.
Customer Service - well, not the low response, but sometimes E-mail dont get answered takes a lots of time like 3 to 4 days some times weelks.
MouthPad - It takes exactly 1 day, this need to be improved, make it a little fast.
Conclusion: This site is best for those people, who likes to read or write reviews on the products or who wants to make a plan on a product wether to buy it or not.
