I have always been jealous of people who can rhyme so this is a pathetic attempt at it.
I write a review or two
Get a U, VU and an occasional boo.
Not amongst the who’s who.
But hey I’m on MS just like you!
I am not going to sing praises about the website in fact I don’t know the exact purpose of this review. No point in saying the obvious. And there are 100s of reviews that talk endlessly about the site. I think the whole point of this write up is to prove that I can rhyme. I came up with four words that sound alike didn’t I?
I am addicted
When I started out here I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t expect to write more than 5 reviews. Today, 2 and a half months later. I have reached more than twice that number and am very proud of it. But to me it has been about meeting new people, sharing ideas and thoughts and picking up one or two things by reading reviews. And yeah every time I see comment added or M2M service in my inbox, my pulse starts racing! It’s a good feeling to know that somebody has taken pains to read and express his or her opinion. And of course it is a haven for consumers. I have been influenced to buy books and music and watch movies. I recently recommended a telugu movie to a friend (I neither understand nor see telugu movies) based on good reviews here!
Why am I addicted?
The best thing about this site is that exceptionally good writers and ordinary writers can co-exist happily. Some people prefer to pick fights, those some people are better ignored. Also another good thing is that you can assure atleast one person is going to read/visit your review. When I owned a blog, most of my posts went painfully unnoticed, but here the fact that every thing that is written is displayed on the front page, whether you are a star writer or not, assures that you get readership.
After careful research, driven by utter boredom I have found out that
On an average a review stays for a of 5 min on a weekday (between 9 am to 9 pm) on the front page
On an average, a review stays on the second page for …..I am not that jobless.
The first comment in most reviews is titled Me first. Sometimes even the second comment is titled me first.
The best time to submit a review if you are a new comer to get max coverage is................yeah right like I am going to disclose this particular detail for free!
This is one of the most read topics on Mouthshut.
If you are a new writer and you write on topics like “5 songs I’d like to sing for my beloved”, nobody is going to read it.
You could get addicted to mouthshut.
There are two kinds of writers, the weekday writers and the weekend writers. They will rarely meet.
You are welcome to do your own research and prove me wrong.
On a personal note
I have never written a comment titled me first :)
I am a weekday writer.
If someone at MS is taking notes the only change that I suggest would be
There should be an option on the front page to search a user. Most user Ids are searchable on google but if the name is common it doesn’t show.
This has been the most random, unstructured review I have ever written. But hey I can rhyme!
