What is MouthShut.com? Its homepage says, write reviews, read reviews and rate reviews.
When you open the link (Home Community Center Writing reviews on MouthShut) you find on the left side of the page, ?Official Description: Help other members write great reviews. Share with them what makes a review useful!?.
So far, 231 members have written reviews on MouthShut.com. So I thought no useful purpose would be served by adding another review. Why not write a review on ? how to write a review or to read & comment on a review. So friends, here is my help-review on this topic.
MS members are already writing reviews and also reading and commenting on reviews written by other members. They are experts in their domain. The purpose of writing this review is to put forward some ideas, which can be used by them if considered useful. There may be ideas in my review, which are already known to many members. I do not claim any copyright on the views expressed by me in this review.
If you want to write a review or read & comment on a review, how should you proceed? In this review I will deal with this topic. I recommend that for this purpose you should follow Process Approach. But what is process approach?
The process approach is a management strategy. When you use a process approach, it means that you manage a process needed to write a review or read & comment on an already written review. Now what is a process? Briefly put, a process uses inputs to generate outputs. Or, more precisely, a process is an integrated set of activities that uses resources to transform inputs into outputs.
Now let us analyze what steps are required for writing a great review on MouthShut.com.

All these steps can also be termed as activities or sub-processes. You can adopt process approach on each of these sub-processes also. But that is an advanced stage. Presently let us limit it to process approach for main process only.
How to select a product (it includes service)? - You should select a product, which you have used. Don?t select it just for writing a review. Establish the need for review. See if reviews are already available on that product. In that case read them and determine if points being raised by you are already covered by these reviews. If yes then write a comment on those reviews rather than writing another review, which might turn out to be a repeat.
What inputs are required? - Product details as given by the manufacturer, which standard has been followed by the manufacturer, your expectations, performance of product, other users? perception, any test results available, any third-party certifications,
How to arrange inputs ? Read carefully information given on product and its primary and secondary packing, carefully note down all details including any claims made about third-party certifications (ISI mark, ISO 9001 or any other standard or, any other certificate), date of manufacturing and expiry, price, any contact number or address, ask your friends and relatives about their perception of the product, any regulatory requirement applicable on product.
How to verify inputs? ? Check all claims made by the manufacturer, check if information given on packing conform to rules relating to packaging, check if any claim made by manufacturer is real,
Decide controls for review process ? No observations about the product, which you have not verified, rules made by MouthShut.com for writing reviews, review should be objective and user-friendly.
Write review ? Use simple language, observations and conclusions should be clear, clearly indicate those points on which you want other members to comment.
Review the review ? Review what you have written, does it cover all points you wanted to address, spell check, review if the ideas are flowing continuously and there is no break, check if the review is suitable for submitting on MouthShut.com.
Submit review ? You know how to do it.
I have limited the review to writing-the-reviews. I hope that members will read the review and comment on it. Then some member will write a review on reading & commenting on reviews using process approach. That will give me immense satisfaction.
