*Sudhagad Fort - Maharashtra
*Located in the vicinity of Pali and endowed with about 50 acres plateau atop, Sudhagad offers a wonderful and a easy trek. Sudhagad, situated at the height of about 600 meters is well fortified by steep cliffs. Due to its qualities Sudhagad was actually proposed by Naro Mukund to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to make it the capital of Hindavi Swaraj. Shivaji Maharaj visited Sudhagad to survey it, but he chose Raigad because of its central location.
Sudhagad fort is situated in Sudhagad taluka, Dist:- Raigad. The central place of Sudhagad taluka is Pali, well known for its Ganpati Mandir which is one of the eight Ganpati Mandirs popularly known as Astavinayak
Second Clip
*Lohagad Fort - Maharashtra
This fort is 10km from Lonavala. It belongs to the period of Chattrapati Shivaji's reign and was used for keeping prisoners in the year 1564.
In 1670, Shivaji Maharaj won this fort and in the year 1751, Gaikwad and Dabhade family were incarcerated in this fort. The entrance to this fort is impressive and is aptly called'Delhi Gate'. There are three gates one after the other.
On entering the exquisite third gate, one reaches the Guard's post. Guns were positioned here during Shivaji's time. The gate is constructed in such a way that gunfire from the gates would reach the enemy at the first gate. The huge cave outside was used as a granary during the rainy season. On its premises there is a tomb and a temple with a Shivalinga ensconced inside it. There are two tanks to store water and one of it was built by Nanasaheb Phandis. Peculiar Vinchukata(fangs of a Scorpion) design adorns the walls of the fort. It is believed that Shivaji Maharaj had kept the treasure looted from his exploits in Surat in this fort for some period of time.
You can see the wall and gate in video which is still in good condition.
NOTE:- i had copied the info about fort from net because I am not a history teacher ;-)
