Motorola Solutions — SMART TV Motorola
I bought this Motorola 50-inch SmartTV with the order number on Nov 3rd 2020. It was Big Billion Sale. TV looked amazing. For 32, 000 looked a best deal with rumours and details around LG panel used was all around.
I did the mistake. TV was amazing to start with. Nice colors, quality and sound. My parents 70+ loved it. It was part of family.
Suddenly last Monday 24th April TV was all on and playing suddenly the screen goes black. Then my parents called me on WhatsApp asking why TV stopped working. Did I not recharge internet or DTH? I saw the TV and was shocked. All Vertical lines all around the TV. Screen was flickering and had no display.
I immediately googled, youtubed found the customer care number 08046331090 and called. It was evening 7 and no one answered. I called 27 times the next day and to my surprise, IVR never worked. I was selecting the language by pressing 1 and call disconnects. I sent mail support.moto@flipkart.com.
I received reply next morning as it's out of warranty it will be chargeable. I replied to schedule. I acknowledged the mail and asked for charges. My parents kept following up with me.
Next day morning "Wednesday" no reply to my mail I tried customer care number again. Someone answered and raised a ticket for me. In 48 hours Jeeves was supposed to call me as that's the company that take care of service.
Thursday morning someone called from Jeeves as I requested to prioritize, asked my address. I asked for charges approx:-
750 visit charges for the engineer - he said. Coming from Dhakuria to Gangulibagan in Kolkata auto costs 26.
I asked what might have happened after explaining the fault he said "Sir panel gone". I will come take photo and send to somewhere who will confirm charges. Roughly around 35, 000. I pleaded please negotiate to visit charges he said he can't. HE agreed to come by 13:30 but didn't. Again, whole day passed.
I clearly cannot afford a panel change for a 32, 000 TV in 3 years. My parents have to stay without a TV as I can't buy a new one now. I can't repair either.
I booked Urban Company after failing to wait for Motorola to act and get Jeeves engineer involved to come and see and comment what went wrong. The budget I got from Urban Company was around 10, 000. I can't afford anything at this point of time. I paid him 250 for his advice and he also left without even touching the TV.
TV was off when my parents followed up with me on Thursday night around 09:30, I just said let's try moving the TV a bit and start the TV on WhatsApp video call.
TV started working again. All was back again. Everyone was happy. Father was like will start dancing. I was so happy seeing my parents filled with joy.
Yesterday evening someone from Jeeves called asking "Can I come now?" Since TV was working, I politely said him it's fixed and working now.
Today morning again .. TV went dark again. Same vertical lines. TV movement is also not working this time. It's flickering.
Please please help me. I seek value for money for products sold on discounts.
Outcome I am looking for,
I am just trying to keep my parents happy and enjoy their soaps and serials. Motorola should change the panel or exchange the TV as it's a faulty product probably a refurbished one. Definitely not Made in India.
