I finally decided to buy a mobile phone as the old one was unchargeable. I gave it for repairs as the phone charging point was gone and required a new one. The technician mentioned that it would take around 3 days to receive it. Since I required a phone urgently and having no spare phone at home, I decided to opt for a new phone.

A dizzying array of mobile phones in the market greeted me, I finally shortlisted a couple of models. One I liked for doubling the battery life and the other had a good camera. This time I opted for the stock Android phones due to my prior experience with customized phones and that limited my choice to the ones from Nokia and Motorola. Motorola appears to have a phone in every category starting from Rupees 4000 to its higher end phones. The phones I had shortlisted were the A6 and the  G6. The A6 provided an additional attachment for battery to the phone as an add on and this doubled the battery life to nearly 7000 MAH. You could also add other accessories to it like a screen projecting device or any other attachment to the phone. Cool! I asked him if he had the attachment immediately available and he replied that I had to pay in advance and pick it up the next day. That put me off and I settled for the G6. The G6 has a dual focus camera which can put most phones to shame, but the main reason I picked up the G6 is because it was a stock Android phone, I know stock Android phones can be boring, . What it means to me however is lesser hang when multitasking and lesser customization which usually drains the battery. Also Motorola appears to be very good at bundling dual sim phones. Ask for a dual sim handset and the default choice narrows down to Motorola!

After usage, I can determine that a full charge of 90 minutes lasts me the entire day. The fast charge is good, with the C type connector.  A good camera with dual focus, decent enough battery life, expandable RAM and dual sim slots to boot. With my add on battery pack, it keeps me on. Yes, it comes only in one color metallic gloss black. I opted for a cover which protects all its edges to keep it safe.

As I finally opted for the G6, the satisfaction on the salesman’s face became obvious at another sale made. Then came the staid carefully planted talks as below.

Him: So I shall fix the tempered glass on the mobile.

Me: Ok. Go ahead.

And then it hit me. I felt jealous after too many youtube videos.

Why should he strip the new mobile open or'unbox' as you call it.

By this time he had brought the case and tempered glass. He proceeded to strip the plastic coating off the box. Unboxing usually happens in India at the shop itself and the sales boys usually keep a statistic between themselves on how many they have unboxed. This is because stores like Sangeetha or any other chain usually provide the tempered glass cover free along with that plastic see through case. After a moment's thought,

Me: Leave it, I shall fit it myself.

At that moment, the horror on his face displayed his disgust at not having achieved another'unboxing'. He kept imploring me on how good they were at packing the tempered glass, I said, it's ok. His frustration was more evident as he tried a couple of more times to get me to agree to allow him to ‘unbox’, but I stood resolute. And so it came to be.

I carefully try to avoid the look on his face as he gives me that irritated look of -> So you won't let me do the unboxing, you dastardly being.
