The phone looks rugged and the hardware seems to be good. No battery problems so far in my first month. Camera is average although the main cam is 13 mp.
But this is the worst phone when it comes to usability. The designers of this phone are completely clueless when it comes to user friendliness. Here are the points:
there is no option to place a short cut on desktop to dial frequently dialed numbers. In fact there is a widget, direct dial which you could map to one number. So I placed this widget 12 times on the desktop storing my frequent numbers. The problem was by mistake I initiate calls and I have to apologize to people for calling them without a reason. Already happened 5 times in a month. This feature is rich in Asus Zenphone 5 and all Samsung phones.
Sometimes dialpad is shown when I want to go to contacts to select someone. Pressing back button takes me to desktop. Home button does the same. Don't know why this happens.
No option to send a text to someone from dialed numbers. All other androids have this.
No short cut to connect to mobile data. Need to open the settings every time and navigate to that option.
No return key in the keyboard - highly ridiculuous. There is one in Indian languages keyboard. So every time you invoke that to hit "enter" while texting.
There is a lag when you hit the rightmost button. You can close the Apps that are open with this button. There is no clear all button.
No option to browse folders. After inserting micro SD card no option to open and browse through folders.
Could not connect this phone to other android phone using bluetooth.
Adding new contacts from recently dialed or received numbers involves 2 steps. Takes just a click in Asus.
I am wondering why this phone is overrated. Motorola, please note and improve. Its a terrible goof-up. No need to invent something that is inconvenient. Rather copy from very user friendly phones like Asus or Samsung and be user friendly. By the way I am not a Asus or Samsung fan. Both these phones had hardware failures and hence I tried Moto. But this one is too messy!
