I was under the impression that Motorola being a six sigma company would come up with a truly superior product, whether they make it for the high end of the market or the low end. But six sigma doesn’t translate to usability. The handset looked funky and cute when I first saw it. Being very compact, it could fit into my closed palm without difficulty. The ring volume was the highest among all phones – could deaf you at close ranges. There are some nice office utilities bundled along with this phone. The negative points are aplenty – the display on this phone (colour screen) was poor – one could not see anything without backlight, even in broad daylight. With such a loud ringing, one would expect better voice clarity, but is not present. Calls could be dropped more frequently compared to other phones on the same network. The user interface is somewhat cumbersome, requiring a lot of thumb impressions, and required a lot of time before you could use it without trouble. EMS was an added option for this phone, though with MMS abound, EMS is not enough anymore. As with any other Motorola phone, compatibility of messages (even text messages) sent across phones is a pain. This phone is very good as an entry level phone with the added benefit of being a loud alarm.
