Would like to share my views about Motorola C168 Cell Phone I have been using since 2006 and is really a wonderful creation of the six sigma holder Motorola, which unfortunately is no more manufacturing in India.

It is one of the most rigid phones that were marketed in India ever. I have dropped it more than 300 times, but the maximum impact was phone starting trouble and that too for less than a minute. and that too has happened 1 or 2 times only.

I have 2 pieces of Moto C168. It has excellent battery backup upto 3 days even today when I do not use FM. Handy, light weight, cute look, simplicity with admirability. I got it for second hand in 2006 from my college who was badly in need of money then. I paid him Rs. 1200.00 for the piece.

It is to be noted that this piece has been my dream phone since 2005 when I couldn't afford the Rs. 2800.00 for a fresh pack of this phone that time. God fulfilled my dream by giving me this phone as second hand. The only service I had done in this phone was once when I was eating Beef Biryani in a hotel. I received a call, took phone out of my pocket, spoke, hung up and kept on the table instead of my pocket since the biryani was so tasty.

I asked the server boy to pour some butter milk in the cup. He, gazing at a beauty queen standing behind me, who had come to buy a parcel, over spilled the butter milk which entered the ear phone port of my phone.

I slapped the guy, half left my biryani, ran to the service centre(regular one) and fortunately he could save my phone from getting IC - burnt. The only loss was vibrator ic got burnt. I paid Rs. 50.00 for his service and my phone now won't vibrate any more. The technician said he can replace the vibrator for Rs. 75. I did not consider that necessary as I was happy that I had saved my phone fortunately as I removed battery on the spot and did not operate any more till I took it to service centre.

This piece stopped sensing network only in December 2011 when I was in Banglore. Still good value for money. The display will say No Service. I tried to get it serviced from a trustworthy technician who has already serviced the same piece. He couldn't do it because he didn't have software updates as Moto was already out dated by then. I use the phone battery as a spare to the other piece of C168 which I still hold.

That piece still acts as my contact book, message keeper without a network. I can call it a mini diary and not a phone as there is no network reception. The battery, panel, and other electronic components are still excellent(speakers, mic, display).

I have a lovely story of how I got my 3nd piene of C168 in my life which I am using till date. My then would be( now wife!) had been using the same phone those days(2008) in Banglore to my surprise and same service too(Airtel). [ What a match and similar taste of sense in phone and mobile service too:-) ]

This phone is still working well. I charge twice or hardly thrice a week. I have a spare battery in the other inactive phone.

I don't have any fair idea about Moto other models since I have used only C168. Its a lovely phone.

If anyone needs spare parts like battery, mic, etc. can get in touch with me. I shall give it for a good price if offered:-)
