A visit to Mostly Kababs, on JP Road, Andheri (W), that too, with an enormous appetite, left us coming out mostly devastated on the palate. An unassuming little ''hole-in-the-wall'' trying desperately to put forth somewhat of an ambience (and failing miserably at that!), that serves Mughlai food, Kababs and Biryanis, also by the kilo.
The ''Reshmi Kababs'' were okay, the ''Seekh Kababs'' probably marinated and kept for a couple of days in the deep freeze, and the ''Chicken Makhanwala'' was served as a main dish. The only difference was that the main dish turned out to be an ''over-sweet'' dessert, with ''Roomali Rotis'' which were edible only when piping hot. On complaining to the steward, the dish was replaced with the same ''dessert'' and plenty of green chutney added to it !!
We had ordered ''Chaas'', which also tasted like a very heavy dose of ''Jal Jeera'' was added to it, and the colour spoke volumes about the amount of yoghurt used in making it.
And what a price to pay for such terrible quality and miniscule quantities. Mostly Kababs is quite definitely mostly avoidable, unless, maybe, when all restaurants in Mumbai are on a ''bandh'', and, at the same time, the cook at home is on leave !!
Mostly Kababs is mostly a ''take-away'' joint, but it is recommended to keep away, rather than take away !!
