Heroes and Killers... Review on Moreorless.Au

I came across this website when I was searching Google to get some information on my idol Che Guevara. And this website is an extremely brilliant website to get an International perspective on the Heroes and Killers of the 20th Century…Most of whom we do not know and some of whom we know really well.

Background:

This website has been developed by an Australian Bruce Harris who is based in Sydney and is not a member of any political organization. It is a completely independent and noncommercial website and various other websites and publications have been used to gather information on the various individuals listed.

Heroes:

Among the 35 Heroes listed in the website the major ones are Winston Churchill (UK), Dalai Lama (Tibet/India), Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), Martin Luther King Jr. (US), Nelson Mandela (South Africa), Yitzhak Rabin (Israel), Franklin Roosevalt (US), Aung San Su Kyi (Burma), Che Guevara (Argentina/Cuba), Albert Schweitzer (Germany) and Desmond Tutu (South Africa).

Killers:

Among the 35 Killers listed in the website the major ones are Nicolae Ceausescu (Romania), Saddam Hussain (Iraq), Adolf Hitler (Germany), Kim II Sung (North Korea), Mao Zedong (China), Pol Pot (Cambodia), Benito Mussolini (Italy), Joseph Stalin (Russia) and Augusto Pinochet (Chile).

The most surprising and controversial entry in Killers is United States Presidents which really makes for an interesting reading and highlights the atrocities carried out by the US and called Liberations be it in Vietnam, Afghanistan or currently in Iraq.

Indian Entries:

Happily no Indian is in the Killers List considering the Peaceful and Democratic nature of our country, but two of our great leaders find their names in the Heroes List who are Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru (Not surprising though).

Maybe in the years to come we would have more Indians in the Heroes List.

Though some of the entries are controversial and quite debatable but overall this website has those names who had positive as well as negative impact on the Global Humanity as a whole in the 20th Century.
