I finally gave in to spousey's demands of taking Bhavana to her first animated movie. And I chose this more for the tub of popcorn for Bhavana to wile her time in case she didn't find it interesting. I mean there were no others nearby. Must say the entire theatre had like 100 people on a Saturday?!? The mall crowds are no longer at the malls!
I must say, I was bored, not in bits and patches, but totally bored, so much so that, I went out twice to get more popcorn and tumblers of Pepsi. and mainly thanks to Pepsi, I survived what must have been a eternity literally'chewing the cud'
The story is a no show, with only the animation being good. Being hit by a meteorite, the main character Susan grows to a tremendous size on the day of her wedding. And then the guys from MIB are back taking her to a top secret destination. She meets up with 3 other characters. And as usual we have a villain trying to take over earth. When he sends a robot down, she is sent to battle it out with the robot. The robot now tries to take her first since she has the whatever substance that made her big in the first place. I would rate the animation 4 out of 5 while giving 1 star for the story/script. The MiBish script is not exactly a crowd puller. In comparision, Cars targetted the same audience while having a better script.
Bhavana did finish one tub of popcorn while watching it. And nope, there was nothing to be scared about keeping in mind that she completed 4 years, 2 months back.
Scenes – When Susan wakes up the first time in solitary confinement and gets introduced to the other characters.
A bumprint to open the doors to the top secret room after all the others(handprint et all).
The president playing the Beverly Hills cop theme to communicate with the aliens.
The four eyed villain had me when he rolled two of his eyes. I found it difficult to watch the movie with the villain around. Was it a trick by the animators to hide the movie background?
Dialogues in the movie – ‘.intellectual problem. Get the Indians onboard!’
Directors - Rob Letterman, Conrad Vernon
Main character Susan's voice over by Reese Witherspoon.
Nope, I didn't get the 2D glasses at Fun Cinemas
