Simply wonderful!!!!!!!!!. Review on Monsoon Wedding

WOw!! What a film it was!! I frankly freaked out every scene of this movie. I cant recall when was the last time I enjoyed a hindi movie so much.Full marks to Mira Nair for this one.I happened to catch this movie just by a freak chance 'n I was hooked from the first shot of it. I usually hate to be the last one in the line to write a revu on a movie but this one really did inspire me in penning a few words.( in support for a noble cause.)

One thing that really hit me was the realistic treatment to the whole movie.NO gloss ,no london ,no alps,just plainly on the roads of Delhi ,well that really gives that authentic real Indian feel . There wasnt one scene that looked out of place or just forced into the movie just for the heck of it.The cast just couldnt have been better and each one of them fit the glove as tho' they were just made for it. ITs such a tragedy that they were so good actors and I dont even know the names of most of them ,except for a few like N.Shah or V.Das. Infact if I was in the jury of Filmfare awards my award wud go to that Dubey guy .Oh god ,I had never seen him in any movie or TV earlier ,but he is really the super hero of the movie. He is drop dead fab in his role. WEll thats what I call it as a comedy , that makes u laugh even without u even aware of it .I happened to go thro ' some revus ,and if it is percievced as just another marriage movie then I pity that the whole purpose of viewing the movie wud be lost.The chaosness ,the halla gulla,the mindset of the family members, etc which is so unique to indian marraiges is captured just the way it is ('n not like the way it is shown in Hum Apke Hain kaun or some other movies like it ,which is so filmi) and I felt that it was shot from some hidden camera without the charecters even aware of it. The dialogues were simply ''MAde in Delhi'' with a kishmish of Hindi,English ,slangs .One angle which cud have been avoided was that child abuse part ,that really changes the mood 'n direction of the whole movie ,but more importantly the reaction to the whole episode is handled sensibly . There r many such tricky scenes where the things r handled maturely without much cheekna 'n chillana for eg,when v.das confesses abt her past life 'n the guys reaction to it etc.

The music ,the charged up atmosphere of the marriage ceromony 'n keen eye for each n every finer details mkaes this movie a delite to watch.

In all ,without reiterating it again 'n again ,hats off to Mira for a wonderful movie ,which shud really be an eyeopener for many commercial directors.
