This film has only one identity. “A FILM BY MIRA NAIR”. It is attracting the audience by this catch.

My ranking of movie – 3/5 and why I do not recommend this movie too friends

Main reason to give average rank to this movie is that of low performance by Mira Nair. In this movie she was probably lost to deliver the message. Her previous movies were to the point, perfect. But it seems she was not sure of her theme and message. It is not at all a Mira Nair stuff, I do not what it has to win a award.

Plot – 1/5

Still I am confused!. Activities at home during girl’s marriage in a Punjabi family. If you see movie in pieces might find it perfect, but looking it as a movie, I do not get the message, that Mira Nair wanted to give. I strongly feel Mira Nair expected to stretch the plot for at least 2 and a half hour, and seem after making full movie she realized, she has finished it up in 45-minute telefilm, which was finally stretched to 2 hr 15 min movie by adding useless scenes. How great it would have been if she had released it as 45-minute telefilm. I don’t understand for what does Vijay Raaz and Tilotama Shome thing was so stretched. For what does she wasted time to show Delhi roads, Chandni chowk, Old delhi’s high-rise cable nets.

Choosing the actors - 5/5

Perfect this gets full marks. The perfect choice of actors for the characters has been a spatiality of Mira Nair. From Naseerudeen Shah to Vijay Raaz were perfectly chosen. Giving 5/5 in this category is not great for her.

Acting - 4/5

Flawless. Here is the one place where Mira Nair gets good marks. Actors are well placed for their roles and so is the delivery.

Technically - 0/5

No doubt this was the worst part of the movie, may be because low budget, shot with hand held camera. I wasted Rs 600 (150 per ticket) to see this movie in hall. I should have bought hired a CD for Rs 30 and seen this on my VCD player. It would have been great of Mira Nair to do the premier of this movie on television, that would have given more audience to the movie.

Screenplay – 3/5

Satire on common problems of common man has been a characteristic of Mira Nair. Humor on certain aspects has been very played. But some of the dialogues are just waste. I don’t understand what she wanted to convey by showing that. “HO GAYEE KLPD”. I was embarrassed when my younger sister asked me it’s meaning.

And actually the movie was KLPD for me.

Do watch this film but avoid going to theater for it.
