To be honest, I didn't even eat at Moni's. I just pulled in with 4 friends in my new i20 and had one look at the place and wanted to leave. However, in the 5 minutes the valet spent with my car, he managed to make Moni's a truly unforgettable (read 'crappy') experience.
My first impression of Moni's was - this is a place well past it's prime. Since we were looking for something a little less ordinary, we decided to leave. However, the 5 minutes we spent with the manager didn't really impress much. Bad attitude. No BO or anything drastic. Just plain bad restaurant skills. No courtesy, no smile - should have got an inkling of what was coming.
Anyway, we took about 5 min to decide that this wasn't the place we'd be stuffing our faces in that night. I politely told the manager we'd be leaving and head back to the valet. Strangely, my car was parked on the left when we entered. When we left, they'd parked my car on the right. Didn't strike me anything more than strange at that time. The place was dark, and so, we didn't see anything either.
Next morning, I see it as a huge scratch on the right front of my sparkling new i20. The valet at Moni's scratched it and didn't even have the honesty to come out with it. They had the presence of sleazy mind to park the car in a place where the scratch would be hidden. Let this be a warning to everyone with cars, dine at Moni's only if you're approaching Insurance payday.
And if you are in the mood for being treated by an uncouth staff. Or if you like HUGE, garish aquariums.
