When we talk about Vishwashanti Gurukul, they claim to be an IB World school. Congress is more likley to win the elections than Gurkul getting an IB certification on there next inspection.
Let's start with the praises.
Now let's move on to the bad parts. In case you didn't notice, I didn't write anything positive. Talking about their vast infrastructure, it has a 120 acre campus in which the students are jailed. They do not have the permission to roam around the campus. Forget that, they are not even allowed to roam around the hostel, being yelled at by the useless wardens even for the slightlest noise. If I am to start talking about the boarding facilities, these are simply third class. Students would rather be homeless than sleep on these beds. They are like prisoner beds, maybe worse. Moving on, the layout of the room is such that students have 0% privacy. People can watch them change and it can be embarassing for students who are extra concious about their bodies. The other furniture is so old that it constantly breaks.
The WiFi connections in the boarding are at low speed and there are uncountable WiFi cuts. The students in this so called open minded school are not allowed to access social media as it is blocked from the WiFi connections, leaving them almost no contact with the outside world. I now pose the question- Is this a boarding school or jail? I would like to shift my attention to the washrooms and toilets of the boarding. Firstly, the toilets have so many cockroaches and mosquitoes, worse than a sewage. There are so many mosquitoes that are immune to water and pesticides also at this point. These insects have availed more facilities than the students of the school. The cleanliness of the rooms and washrooms are seriously questionable. Rooms are not mopped for weeks and even if they are mopped, they are mopped with such dirty mops. Students have noticed that the mopes used in the washrooms are the same ones used in the rooms.EW. Hot water in the showers is honestly so frustrating. Most of the time there is no hot water and when there is hot water its so hot that students can get skin burns. Some of the cleaning staff uses the toilet and don't even flush.DISGUSTING. The students in the boarding are given food that is so oily and obviously unhealthy and can contribute to the deteriation of their health. Although, the school does offer a cafe system they are robbing students of their money as dishes with a low cost are being sold at absurd prices.
Gurukul being a top 50 school in the ISSO rankings, have now dropped all the way to 250. This just goes to show how they do not care about giving students a balanced lifestyle and it also leads to students with potential being shot down. The sports facilities are not well maintained for the money that is being paid. Alongside that, the school lacks proper coaches, leading to the students to train themselves most of the time. The school charges abnormal prices for travelling to tournaments, in which they always rank last due to the above stated reasons.
Now these days due to the schools poor capabilities there are barely any teachers left on campus. Teachers are over worked and not treated right leading to the student getting caught in the cross fire. Majority teachers do not teach the students but just read from the textbook and expect the students to understand leading to poor performances by them academically or parents start paying for tution classes. The higher managment also believes in student segregation(based on academic capabilities) which indirectly led to the smart kids getting more attention from the teachers as they wanted to focus on THEIR success and not the entire class for promation sake. The school also has very partial system in terms of determining predicted grades as students with closer relationships with the teachers were given higher predicteds than students who were scoring a higher percentage than them. The vice principal is known to have a very narrow mind set and does not believe in a modern education, and the school was not like that previous years. Additionally, the teachers are very biased towards student who "butter them up" some teachers don't even have a proper sense of the IB curriculum. The disparity between boarders and day scholars is very visible. When it comes to the uniform code of conduct boarders are sent back to change unlike day scholars who face no punishment/ consequence by school teachers. The staff often barges into the hostel rooms to see what the students are upto, leading to privacy invasion by teacher. When student joined the school there were no documaents signed indicating that the staff can go through your laptop.
The school also does not believe in gender equality as both the genders are segregated from each other and any contact is considered punishable. The staff also makes it a habit to taunt specific student who do not perform well in any sector, which is unfair as everyone excels in their own way and the school does not have adequate facilities to nurture students.
I recommend taking your time and investing it in a more worth while school who believes in student success and happiness and does not embrace INEQUALITY.
