The tagline in itself says that this movie is a compilation of nothing but unexpected twists and turns. A movie which is all about motherhood, shining some light on the sense of belonging.
MIMI has got 4 out of 5 stars which in itself states that its a great movie. All in all the movie has a lead role of 2 fine actors. Known for their great performances in the movies they've acted before. Pankaj Tripathi and Kriti Sanon
The story revolves around surrogacy blended with comedy and a pinch of drama. The lead actress Kriti(Mimi) in the movie agrees to become a surrogate for a couple who came all the way from America. They had been looking for someone who could help them and they somehow convince Mimi. And soon all the happy moments turn into drama due to the emotional, legal and social complications. As we Indians live in a society and it being important. Being social, we humans need society but to cope up with it sometimes can be a real pain.
Mimi being quite young(as shown in the movie) 24-25 years of age. And has a dream of becoming an actress. But for that she will have to go to Mumbai with loads of money. Now things start being like she ever wanted or planned however its not always rainbows and flowers. Then she comes to know that the unborn baby has developed a disease/health condition. Leaving everyone in complete awe.
Surrogacy is an agreement between a woman and a couple to bear their child. Lastly giving the baby back to the couple for whom it was intended in the first place. It is acceptable across the globe but in India it is not so.
Overall a movie which is quite entertaining while showing some light on surrogacy and the complications that run with it. The concept of adoption here gets ignored though. The adoption process in a country like India is however pretty much wrongly depicted and would surely lead to confusion about it. Especially for the ones who have been thinking about it, lately.
Lastly the movie is something you can enjoy with the family. It revolves around a topic talking more about motherhood and humanity
