I live in Chennai. I bought a Microteck Inverter - 600 VA Sine Wave + Microteck Tubular Battery in June 2011. It has been 16 hard months with that piece of Junky hardware.
========
The very first week of functioning, the inverter caught fire and burnt completely.
I called up the so-called call-center (full of mallu's) who does not know any language (English, Hindi, or even the local language - Tamil).
I asked for replacement.
They said NO, and but they promised that would immediately change the PCB board.
It took almost 2 weeks for them to come and change the PCB board (reason - same old tactics No Stock)
=======
After four months, another problem came. Battery keeps on charging (over charging).
I called the call center and informed them about the problem.
After one week two person came and checked the inverter and said that the there’s no problem with the inverter and Battery needs to be checked. (they are not the ones to check the battery )
I called the call center and registered a complaint for battery
The battery guy was smart. He said that the water level was very low and that it should be taken to service center for refilling.
I arranged and paid for transport of battery up and down.
They charged Rs 350 for a battery that was under warranty.
The beauty was the problem did not go away. Again, battery keeps on charging.
Again, I called the call center to register a complaint.
After several follow up call, they finally arrived after 8 or 10 days. They replaced the PCB board.
It almost took 20 days to get the issue solved
======
Within a month, the transformer inside the inverter got burnt.
I called the call center, registered a complaint.
After several follow up, a service engineer came. He said that the transformer needs to be changed.
The transformer was fully black and any one with eyes can tell that it’s gone. But, he said he cannot change it just like that.
He needs to check the transformer at his place (may be service center). He will not pick the inverter by himself; I had to do the honor of transporting the inverter to service center back and forth.
After one week they called me and said the inverter was ready and I can take delivery.
I took the delivery and called up the service guy to fix it.
I had to call him like girl friend (morning, after noon, evening ), after several calls he came and fixed it.
===========
It was working fine for around 5 months
Again some problem, the inverter started to raised overload alarm, even when I was using only one fan.
I called the call center, registered a complaint.
I waited for 3 days, and called the call center. They replied that the problem would be attended today. ( this prolonged for some 2 to 3 days )
After 3 days, the call center person told that the complaint was transferred to Tambaram Center (a sub service center).
I called the Tambaram service center, no one picked. After regular intervals, I tried repeatedly, no one picked the picked the phone. I called up the main call center; he said this was the only number available.
Mysteriously someone picked the phone, he must be some kind of half-boiled person (half minded). He asked for the details of problem, I said that the overload alarm sounds all the time even if just one fan runs. He asked me to check the fan coil (funny).
He said that he was busy two days and could only attend to the problem after 2 days. I kept tab on him and reminded him on the third.
Finally, after 4 or 5 days, he arrived and to my surprise, he was the same person attending the phone and attending the service. One man army of Microteck for Tambaram Service center.
He attended the problem and asked for Rs 150. His travelling expense. I didn’t put up any fight, as I was in desperate need of inverter.

Until last month, everything was fine.Suddenly some burning smell came, and I knew the inverter must be the culprit.My guess was right; the burning smell was from inverter.
I called the call center. Registered a complaint. Complaint was transferred to Tambaram Center.
I followed up with the Tambaram service guy (one man army), he promised daily that he would come tomorrow. It went on for some 7 or 8 days.
Finally he arrived. This time he got one assistant.He said that the problem is big and the inverter should be repaired only in the service center. I delivered the inverter to service center in Tambaram.
It’s been almost 35 days since then, the inverter is still lying at Tambaram service center.
=====
I think the Microteck should stop selling inverter and do potato business. They neither produce quality products nor they do provide good service.
Once, the inverter gets ready I am planning to sell it and buy a new from other brand (say whirlpool or luminous or even usha )
