U see him holding the ball, with a chewing gum in his mouth, his tongue wagging and his eyes on the basket, u r sure u r going to witness another “Leap in the Air” by Air Jordan. Ya, that’s the famous Basketball player Michael Jordan for u. No reviews or articles can gauge the greatness of this great Basketball player of all times. But here is a small introduction of the greatest player ever to play the game.
Michael Jordan began his professional Basketball career during his young college days. He was voted as the College Player of the Year in 1983 and 1984. But then, this was just the beginning. Michael went on to join NBA and the elite league of Basketball players from all over the world.
The first taste of team success for Michael came in 1991 when the Chicago Bulls lead by Michael went on to clinch the NBA Title. But after this, winning for Michael and Chicago Bulls became a habit. He along with Scottie Pippen went on to fetch Chicago Bulls 3 Straight NBA Championships from 1991-93.
Michael’s father, James, was killed in a robbery in 1993. This devastating event in Michael’s life partially lead to his retirement from the game. Michael also claimed that Basketball held no more challenges for him. So, he turned to Baseball for a challenge where he was not able to do well enough.
He made an emotional comeback to Basketball in 1996, again as the Captain of the Chicago Bulls Team with of course his compatriot Scottie Pippen in it. And what do u expect of them? Ur guess is as good as mine. They went on to clinch 3 more NBA Championships from 1996-98. And what’s more? Michael was judged as the Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals during each of the Championships that they won from 1991-93 and then from 1996-98. Michael has also been twice on the US Gold Medal winning Olympic Team, once as a College Player in 1984 and the second time on Dream Team I in 1992.
In the midst of all these achievements as a Basketball player, Michael has also starred in a movie called “Space Jam”. It is also said that Michael used to wear a brand new pair of Air Jordan shoes each game, usually donating the pair after the game.
Looking at all these facts, it can be concluded that very few players will be able to achieve what Michael has achieved.
