I am a big big fan of Will Smith, and also of MIB franchisee, and when I heard that the third installment is coming, I have to see it, and now I have seen it, and I must say 'Wonderful' about the movie in one word. Yes, movie is good, and stand up to the comic science-fiction aliens-related level which the first MIB achieved. That was an unusual movie, and so this movie continued the legacy. Third movie comes late but better late than never (1st released in 1997, 2nd in 2002), and this time it has one more actor Josh Brolin to support. 1st movie was the best and this one is 2nd best.
Here's the story (SPOILER: do not read, and watch it instead) - Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) broke the moon-jail and escaped, and he has to take revenge from the guy who caught him back in 1969, since that day 2 things happened, he got caught losing his arm and the guy who caught him installed an earth-security system in the space (Arcnet) which made the earth secure from any alien invasions. That person was Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones). Boris planned to go back in time so that he can kill K, and hence prevent him from securing the earth, and then he will get aliens to invade the earth, and he succeeded in doing so. Suddenly Agent K vanishes from everybody's memory (since he's killed in past), but Agent J (Will Smith) still remembers him. He saw aliens are invading the earth, and he has to save the earth. It means he too have to go back in time (1 day before to the date - 16 july 1969, to which Boris went) to prevent Agent K's death and hence preventing the earth from attack. He meet the younger Agent K (Josh Brolin) and somehow, after so many do's, convinced younger K to believe him. That Arcnet is an object possessed by a future-seeing alien Griffin (Michael Stuhlbarg) and J-K needs to take that object from him before Boris take. Hence the run started and in the end obviously our heroes got success. Meanwhile there was also one secret about J's life which he came to know.
Now, first things first, Barry Sonnenfeld is back, and that is good, he directed the 1st installment which got the Superhit mark, and he's back with a bang, nicely directed movie. The movie has the same feel which the part 1 created long back, the movie has a status of a kind of spoof on secret agencies, where a secret agency works for the betterment of aliens on earth, so that they can live and let live peacefully on the earth in disguise manner. And MIB's has the work to make it sure, and to capture all nuisance-creating aliens. The film gone back in time to the day when Apollo was launched, so all the technology shown there are also old, like a battery-charged version of the device which help MIBs in letting the spectators forgot their memories about this secret agency works. Younger Agent K also holds a big mobile phone, and the movie maintains the same charm and comic quotient as was by 1st part. Josh Brolin was perfectly matched as a younger Tommy Lee Jones, what a work he has done. He was shown as a 29-yr old TLJ, although he's 44 years old as of now. But he matched the expression of the great actor, and acts , behaves like him, perfect match the director found in him. Will Smith, well what can I say about him, he's one of the great and loving actor of Hollywood (alongwith the likes of Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp), and he acted perfectly in this movie as well. Michael Stuhlbarg looks quite similar to legendary Shammi Kapoor in the look-up of his character Griffin. Dialogues are good, and to a bit humorous. Special effect were too good, you know what even Steven Speilberg too was back as an executive producer for this movie. The best scene I loved was when Will Smith jumps off a high building to travel back in time. Whole scene was comedy, with the dialogue, when J ask the guy, "How am I going to know whether I went in the past after jumping from the building", and the guy looks the height of building and simply replies, "You will come to know or you won't" (means you'll either survive or you don't). Equally supported camera shots. The movie goes on for 1 hr 45 min, and you just loved it. Story seems confusing to some but for brainy guys like me :P, it's no headache.
Do watch this movie, if you have seen the other two, and if you're a fan of movie, you can also watch even if you haven't watched the other 2 MIBs. This is my first MIB movie I watched in theater, my take 4.5/5 for entertaining me.
