Hello Folks,
I work for Infosys, Pune. Today I had placed an order for my mother-in law who is suffering from diahorrea and stays in Ahmedabad. My husband is in US on a client visit.
In gujarat, there are heavy rains, floods and deluge. My mum-in-law mentioned that the nearest pharmacist in closed and when I read the news over google I came to know that all the clinics and drug stores are shut in ahmedabad due to heavy rains, even schools and offices were not operating.
I know that Ciplox TZ and Electral will help her with diarrhea. So I decided to place an order online. I searched over Goolgle and came across this website - MedPlusMart.com and thought it to be decent. I added the medicines to cart and went ahead to make a payment. The website gave me a validation error that a prescription was needed hence I called up the customer care that how could I bypass this stage, because the meds were basics - Ciplox TZ, Electral, Pudin Hara and Metacin.
The Customer care female asked me pen down the list of medicines over a white piece of paper and upload it on the website.
After 2 hours of placing the order, I get a call from their agents saying that the prescription is invalid and they need it on a Doctor's letter head! Utter nonsense.
My question is,
A. if a patient could go by himself to consult a Doc, will he / she not get the meds by himself / herself, because every clinic has a drug store or pharmacist?
B. why is a prescription required for basic meds like Metacin or Ciplox or Electral? Its not a diabtes or thyroid medicine . Why the hell am I placing an order online?
C. when there are times of crisis where in a daughter is in ope part of country and mother is in another part of country and is unwell with doctors unavailable, how the nonsense can one place an order online through this humbug site?
D. I did a "Jugaad" as they say. I went to the Infy Campus doc and he helped me with the prescription, now the site people confirmed my order not realizing the fact that the Patient is in Ahmedabad, the Prescription is from Pune. WTF?! Apparently, I told this fact to the customer care official as well, but all they needed was a piece of nonsense! Merely a piece of paper on a doc's letterhead! Such a nonsense.
I conclude and decide not to ever by medicines from this website, the customer care people are dumb and illogical, the site is carrying humbug policies, and the website is just not user friendly. I could have thrashed them hard such foolish people
The Infy doc suggested me to try netmeds.com, so next time I place an order from that website and not this piece of nonsense!
