For anyone hailing(or domiciled) in Maharashtra, this film is an eye opener. The "Marathi" tag is well defined in this movie. This movie goes out tho say that the "Marathi" term is inclusive and not exclusive.Contrary to the popular perception, this is not a film about Marathi v/s outsiders, on the contrary its more about being Marathi just by name v/s being Marathi by principles. For the definition of Marathi and the principles which define the way a Marathi should function is well explained using the Character of the Great Maratha king Chattrapati Shivaji(or simply Maharaj) as he is fondly called. This film brings out the fact that none of the political parties which try to yield power by using this Great King's name are no where close to matching the ideals set by the legendary king himself. The way an ordinary man struggles against the System with firm support from the teachings of Shivaji and the way he manages to get his work done without bending his back is worth applauding. This film is set on a very contemprory issue of land grabbing by Builder Mafia.which I am sure almost everyone from Mumbai can easily relate to. Mahesh Manjrekar fits the character of the Maratha king to the hilt, Sachin Khedekar is simply too good. To sum it all.a MUST WATCH FOR EACH AND EVERY "MAHARASHTRIAN". I am sure each person will feel a sense of pride once he steps out of the cinema after watching this movie!
