McDonald's is not MY kind of place but the kids seem to just love it! McDonald's is a family favorite, especially if you have small children.
The Kid's Meal at McDonald's is a kid's favorite, however, I think the toy in the meal is the actual favorite. The meal consists of a small hamburger (or cheeseburger), small fries and a small soft drink of choice. It also contains a promotional toy, along the lines of a Disney character, beanie baby, etc. They even have meals specifically for boy or girls, just tell them you need a meal with a toy or a ''boy''.
Now that we have spotlighted the allure of McDonald's for the kids, lets take a closer look.
The dining areas in the US are pleasantly decorated, usually with lots of color. They are for the most part, clean and neat. If you do not want to sit down for a meal, you can use the drive-thru for eating on the run. The service is usually pretty good, but I've also been to one that has taken forever to serve up the order. Why can't they train these people better??
The food at McDonald's is definitely fast food. I prefer other fast food restaurants over McDonalds 99% of the time. The burgers do not have much taste, hence the low quality of products used. I also find the burgers greasier than other places. However, if in a rush and it is the only place to go, I will give in. I also remember when the Big Mac was a huge burger and quite filling. Now it is just a regular size burger--nothing special. I think McDonald's has reduced the size and quality of their products over the years, yet you are still paying ''top price''.
The selections are varied from state to state but typically you have several choices of different styles of burgers, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches and other specialties like the McRib. They also offer salads if you are not in the greasy burger mood!
The prices are very reasonable for a meal away from home. McDonald's offers Meal Deals that come with burger, fries and soft drink for approximately $3.25 to $4.99 depending on the price in your area.
Not to be totally negative with this review, I have to plug the french fries. Overall, Mc'Donald's serves up nice, hot and tasty french fries. So if you have a craving for fries, McDonald's will not disappoint you.
