Even though in recent years, I have started using Linux operating system on my laptop, in earilier years, i-e, since my first desktop PC in my college years until a few years ago, I used to use windows operating system only my desktop and laptop PCs. The prime reason being that in those days Linux GUI was not so developed and powerful and fully featured and also the Linux ‘office software’ was not so sophisticated and compatible. Due to such reasons, I have primarily used windows operating system for more than a decade from late 90s to early 2010s. So obviously I needed some or the other antivirus to keep my system safe and secure, as it is much needed on windows OSes.
I tried using various antivirus softwares and other security products – either freewares or free trial versions, and even purachased softwares. Finally I decided to give a go to McAfee security product suite by purchasing, downloading and installing it through online(internet) channel. Overall I was pretty much impressed by its sophisticated features such as a nice, user-friendly, intuitive GUI which can be used by even a layman(by layman here I mean a non-techie computer user who just knows basics of computer usage, such as a creative artist using the laptop just for internet surfing and email etc.). Security features wise also many features were bundled into a single software product making it a one-stop shop, and not having to purchase and download/install ten different security software products. After installing the McAfee suite, I had complete peace of mind, and never faced any security issue. It had plenty of options for automated scanning of whole PC offering a plethora of permutations and combinations for designing this auto-scan schedule. It used to detect each and every infected file or any potentially unsafe website, or attachment or USB drive etc. With McAfee, you can completely rely on it for taking care of all your security needs. It had wonderful firewall settings also with a well-organized GUI for configuring it.
And all these features came at a very reasonable pricing, especially when you selected Indian currency(irrespective of your current location). For example even when I was in New Zealand/Australia for a few years, I always selected INR and got a somewhat better price. After my first usage of McAfee, I never looked for other options and always kept in renewing my license every year, for many years(until I finally decided to change the OS to Linux, on which I don’t use any antivirus or any purchased security product).
Thus from my years of personal experience in various situations, global locations and various versions of windows OS, and extenstive use of my computers, I can definitely recommend McAfee security products! My best wishes are with McAfee in their noble mission of providing world-class security products and services to the computer users of the world.
