After trying a couple of antivirus software’s like NPAV and Quick Heal, I recently came across a new product called "Max Secure Anti Virus Pro 2010 “ while shopping at Angel soft solutions, Pune.
This product was launched in May 2010 and the packaging looked premium and appealing. I Picked up the box for more details and what caught my eye was “ The Fastest Antivirus for total PC Security”. After I noticed “Now in India after delighting customers world wide” I smiled as everyone wants to prove themselves as “world class”. After that I noticed “Rated 5star product”. This too sounded familiar as many companies have been awarded such certifications. But what really made me ask more about the product were two things
1: Max 10 Point Protection and
2: Win a trip to Disneyland
Those 10 protection points were interesting which were: Fast smart scan, Enhanced detection, Active monitoring, advanced blocking, Complete removal, Active registry fix, Prevents Internet Infection, Instant support and automatic updates.
Being an advertising professional, our work involves heavy downloading, uploading, browsing and chatting. I have always been concerned regarding malware, viruses, trojens, adware, spyware, cookies and worms. One mistake and the computer gets infected. This results in rework of files, missed / delayed deadlines and a lot of heartburn. Ultimately losses in business. I decided to check this out thoroughly.
I demanded a demo and the vendor happily agreed. Usually these people are reluctant in giving demos, I asked how come he agreed so fast? He replied- Sir, In other antivirus software’s We face a lot of after sales headache as customer keeps calling us for info, instructions, and even free home visits. Maxsecure has a 24 hr. Most of the antiviruses do their job well but I wanted to check this product for 2 reasons
1: Fastest Antivirus which takes very little memory. I asked him to copy a heavy corel draw graphic file in his pc and made him run the scan while I worked and saved the file simultaneously. Usually the scan makes the PC very slow and you cannot work. If the work is urgent, you have to pause the scan, finish your work and resume scan. This way Your pc is at risk again and open to spyware, malware and viruses.
2: Auto updates. When the auto update starts, the PC becomes too slow. I repeated the same process and was happy with the speed of the pc ( configuration of the PC was standard ) was normal.
The product worked. This didn’t make the PC slow and the scanning was over faster as compared to NPAV or Quick Heal. After that I checked the 24 hour toll free no. and it worked too.
I was convinced.
I have been using the product for last 2 months and I am happy with the performance.
This is available for rs. 600/- which is costlier than many other antiviruses by rs 100/- but it’s worth it.
I am not sure whether I will be lucky enough to win a trip to Disneyland but one thing I am sure of that I am already a winner. This is savig a lot ofmy time and auto updates keep you free from taking manual updates.
