Hello to all. Some Info: Status of purchase: Test drive taken -(on Zxi)(delivery in early feb) Dealer: Automotive, Nerul, New Mumbai Engine: 990 CC(KB series) Model: LXi(Power Steering, body coloured bumpers and AC) Price on road: Rs. 3.78 lacs VXi and Zxi are costliers I decided to buy a vehicle and got down doing my reaserch for a good hatchback after which I zeroed in on Spark & A star.(Gosh it was difficult) both were pretty much on par but I decided to go with A star. I know a lot of reviews here are in favour of Spark and I admit its a good car I test drove it twice but the reasons I went for A star are listed below: 1)Riding Comfort: I currently have a Alto and after the test drive I felt that Astar has good riding comfort .the huge dashboard takes a litte time to get used to but not a huge problem. Gear changes are smooth & engine is almost noiseless.(on par with spark but the console in Astar looks much better) 2) Looks: Gosh! the Car looks hot man seriously atleast for me.it looks big and mean and definetly a eye catcher(scores over spark here).yeah but the rear windows are a bit small but not that much of any issue for me actually. 3) Fuel efficiency: 19.6 km/l as claimed and dealer says atleast 17-18/l on the highway. pretty good vs 15-16/l for spark(Astar just ahead) 4) Service and spares- I have owned 2 maruti vehicles and trust me maintenance is not and issue nor is service.i read and heard that Chevy is a? in this area(A star has a edge here) 5)looks, fuel efficiency, great console, great service and spares, bigger feel of the car.made me book the A star yes some grey areas. 1) Small boot space: Guys with families travelling a lot with a lot of luggage yes the boot space is small but if you really love the car.you can put in a good carrier as well. 2) Roof hitting people head:- well I got my friend who is 5ft'11 in to sit back while I was test driving the vehicle and guess what he was as comfortable when he was sitting behind in Spark 3) Seating: 4 healthy people can comfortably sit - but a 5th person if willing to adjust a bit can sit in too.
