Movie :Manmathan

Cast : Silambarasan, Jyothika, Goundamani, Atul Kulkarni
Think about a Simbu movie without he displaying his mannerisms and heroics.
It is quite unbelievable and thinkable, but believe it or not Manmathan belongs to this genre.
Hats off to Simbu for chosing a slick screenplay and ably supporting it with dialogue.
Upon story :
though the story is inspired from our own Sigappu Rojakkal and Valentine , it is commendable. The serial killer taunting immoral girls - the reason behind and the man behind is the story - I've already played a spoiler in revealing the plot. But no more can I reveal - watch it in theatre folks.
Simbu has managed to hold the attention of viewers till the end.
The story though one can guess what its genre like -manages to hold its grip on the viewers truly sticking on to the movie's tag line only God can judge him.
Jothika fits to the character like ''T'' and so are ''Sindhu'' and ''Goundamani'' and
''Santhanam'' of Sakala Ragala Fame.
Mandhira bedi and Yana Gupta along with the other models provide the much required Oomph factors.
The sequences involving Simbu and Atul are well shot .
Manmathan is a taut thriller which engrosses the viewers with an engaging narration, presentation, and is technically top class.
Simbu has taken the audience by surprise with a good performance and contrary to his loud image that he had in films so far, he is a revelation. Mean, diabolic and malevolent, he plays his first double role to perfection with a sense of humour.
The film seems to have been ghost-directed by Silambarasan!
What makes the film work and create palpitation for viewers is its racy narration, excellent camera of R.D.Rajasekhar, editing of Antony and background music of Yuvan Shankar Raja which has the intensity and style of a well made thriller.
The songs of Yuvan, lingers in your mind. Most of them are in sync with the storyline and they have been choreographed well especailly the remixed version of Enasai Mythiliye - Simbu and Jothika steal the show with their breath taking steps - in chic sets designed by art director Rajeev.
Verdict : 8.5/10
In a word, a well etched thriller
Yeah the Best Simbu movie till date
