Manila: A city of contrast. Review on Manila

I got a cheap flight from Cebu Pacific(3 baht promotion) to Manila. Luckily, the typhoon has stopped before I arrived.

I bring 200USD with me as I have been told that the Philippine is a cash-only country. Plus, most Vloggers on youtube said that their ATM are not working here.

Once, I arrived. The immigration was super fast and easy. The airport is clean(however, not enough restroom in the departure section).

I spent 5 nights in total in Manila. When I looked back, it is not as cheap as I thought. But anyway, I did not regret. At least, it increases my resiliency to the further extent.

Cebu Pacific is a lowcost airline. I read Pantip, a local thai web board talking about things. One thing you have to be careful about this airline is that your online check in does not mean anything. You have to undergo the document inspection at the check in counter anyway. Otherwise, they will deny your boarding.

I feel that the legroom of Cebu Pacific, using A330, is a bit more generous than the other southeast asian lowcosts.

Manila airport looks a bit small. The other airport outside Manila called Clark which is 80 kilometers.

I found my airport bus very easily and the traffic in Manila is not that horrible. One thing that is different from Bangkok is the Casino. Casinos are visible inside the capital. You see guards will their guns everywhere in Manila.

Sadly, because there are still lot of poor people here. They would search for things in the garbage. And sometimes, children will try to snatch food or drink from your hand.

Only in Makati area that you can find fancy shopping malls. Forget about the Mall of Asia. It does not worth your time to visit. There are plenty of 7eleven and you have to try Jollibee, the local fried chicken fast food.

Chowking is ok and also affordable.

My advise if you want to visit Manila is download Grab App for the taxi or share ride. I do not recommend the Jeepney. And please try to dress down if you go outside Makati area.

The MRT or LRT is ok.
