I am using Scorpio Slx Black with golden cladding since Jan 05 but is stolen on 27th March 06 from my house. It was a pleasure driving it irespect of road, weather or terrain.
The Scorpio with NEF engine is like a workhorse. It never let you down for the power. Let it be overtaking at high speed or up gradient. At the same time like a jockey in racecourse ground, it leaves behind the vehicle of the entire make and class. Introduction of CRDe engine is further up gradation to reduce engine noise and the pollution.
However the security system in Slx model is in question. Standard fitment of security system in Slx model has given an edge to the vehicle thieves. They are aware of the location where to attack to disconnect the security system. They enter in the vehicle by removing one of the rear windows, disconnect the security system and take away the vehicle.
The vehicles where security system is not fitted as standard item but got it fitted in local market as optional fitment, theft attempts have failed in most cases. Reason for failure? Thieve could not locate the security controller to disconnect it.
My suggestions to control the Scorpio theft are:
Provide sensor on the rear window and connect them to main security system.
Use two or three type of security systems so that thief is confused with where to search for security controller
