Last night we tried Thali at Maharashtra Lunch Home in Nerul.
Sadly, it was one of the worst experiences in recent times we had.
The beverages were served within 10 minutes.
The NV Thali was served after about 15-17 minutes of ordering, maybe it was all prepared stuff that is just dished out since the curry mutton dish was cold, bhakri was cold and boiled mutton piece was just rolled into the thick masala in another vati and served where the meat was cold, sol kadhi in the Thali was warm.
I asked for an extra Bhakri, hoping that will come warm if not hot but that too was served cold.
Then rice was offered which was also cold.
Salvers were not used for any food dish to be served and waiters were bringing everything in their hands, well nothing was even remotely warm so why use salvers, eh!
I finished my meal and my Thali was cleared but the Veg Thali for my wife did not come even by this time, and in between we had 3 servers summoned to ask them to get the Thali, and they all vanished and then kept avoiding even eye contact.
After 45-50 minutes a substandard Thali with its stuff was served, again, cold Bhakri and cold rice but the Curries were warm, sol kadhi was warm and even gulab jamun was cold which means they had to prepare this items to make this Thali ready.
BTW, the Veg Special Thali was recommended by the steward to have as its very good, he never came back to anywhere near us.
Unfortunate, this was a place we visited when festive season is on and we wanted to celebrate with Maharashtrian food and it failed miserably. Bad service, Bad food, lack of courtesy and poor taste left for never to return again.
