Once in a While comes a movie with a Satirical tone and it really requires tons of Guts to execute that. In that way, it requires Shakthi Chidambaram and Satyaraj to have a go at current happenings. And the duo needs to be credited for executed that in a perfect manner. They have taken a whip against all the tantrums thrown by so called leading stars and Politicians.
It starts with the scene where Satyaraj imitates Rajini, Ajit and VijayaKanth ( the take at the latter two is rip roaring comedy) and it goes on.
Let me enlist them, It has a go at
Rajini for his unpopular recent Voice during elections and also for his famous funding for Bakiratha Yojana
All leading actor and actors for their interviews post their first movies
All tamilians for their blind faith and following in cine stars
Vijayakanth for his recent stunt in politics and Tamilianism
Karunanithi for his famous night arrest
Jayalalitha for her famous crown princess episode
Vaiko for his famous procession
All forty + aged heroes for their passion for acting as youths ( don’t miss this scene to watch Satyan and Satyaraj’s expression)
Ramadoss ,Krishnaswamy,Tirumavalavan ,etc for their so called tirade against Cinema and saving Tamil ( Did we ever ask u to rechristen ur party’s name who r u to ask us to change our movie name – hahaha – It deserves special mention)
Politicians who are past their prime but still on their quest to power ( his example of comparing Bush / Blair along with our politicians and then questioning on retirement age and also questioning on the educational back ground and knowledge of the politicians)
And lots more already I’ve quoted few and there are quite a lot more.
Pls do watch it in theatre folks.
Namitha and Mumtaz execute their role to the perfection as add-ons for Glamour
Mallika and Manoj Kumar do justice to their roles
Special mention must be made about Alex, P.Vasu, Raj Kapoor, Chitra Lakshmanan and Ramesh Kanna- they all live their characters.
Visu carries his experience on his often repeated role and so is Manicka Vinayagam
Cinematography and Music is average and who cares about music in these type of movies.
Hats off to Satyaraj for his pure guts to take a shot at his co-stars and also politicians, he carries the entire movie on his shoulders.
Shakthi impresses a lot with his Dialogues but Screenplay is a bit sloppy, one can forgive that for his satirical best dialogues
Verdict : Satyaraj @ his Satirical Best
Rating : 8.5/ 10
